Blitz monitor swap - K7000 - what are the settings?

I have a Blitz cabinet that I picked up from a guy who apparently lost interest...

I am in the middle of putting it back together, and after vacuuming out the mouse poop, I have questions about the monitor...

I know that there was originally a U5000 in the cab. It must have developed issues, because there's a STD res K7000 in there now. I know the monitor is good because I tested it with another game. It's actually pretty decent, +1 for me!

I also know that Blitz can do STD and MED res. I've read up on it and changed the dipswitch settings, and it's still displaying 3-4 images (like when you hook up a std res monitor to a med res game).

My questions are: Despite what the settings are, has anyone hooked up a std. res. K7000 to a Blitz and gotten decent results?

If so, what were the dip switch settings you used, and what was the pinout for the game board video connection (RGB, Gnd, SYNC). I have the sync on the last pin at the moment, and have tried all combinations.

I've also tried the standard dipswitch settings, per the manual, and don't seem to be getting anywhere. Anyone actually have a Blitz running on a std res K7000?

Thanks in advance.

Which blitz version is it? I have a '99 that I use as a test board, and switch between standard and medium depending on which monitor I'm testing...

I'm thinking it's a 99, but not sure

I have like 5 boards that came in a box with the game. Like I said, the dude had the thing all apart. Based on the ROM versions, I assume it's a 99.

It's weird. So, I boot the game without the hard drive and I get the split screens (like when you hook up a med res game to a standard res monitor).

Maybe I'll post a pic? Would that help? For now, it just boots to the initial screen, it appears to be a test screen (green grid). Hard to read because of the overlap.

It's a Blitz 99 cabinet, but like I said, I have a few game boards, so they could be all over the place. Are there distinctive tells I could look for?

Before I get to figuring out what game board works, etc. I was just trying to get the pic stable.

Usually the ROM has a label that says "Blitz 99" or whatever.

Mine won't boot to any stable screen without the hard drive connected, even though the hard drive is bad. I can boot to the test menu just fine.

I can't find my printout of the Blitz dip settings, but I think that U8 switch #2 is the one that switches it between standard and medium...

I have several boards

I got like 5 boards with the game. Two boot to some sort of test screen. Still have a multi image, even after moving the second switch on U8.

Also, with a K7000, where's the sync wire go? I've tried multiple spots, all with the same result. I'm gonna throw in a different monitor soon, just to see if it comes up.

Adjusting the horizontal hold does nothing?

Do yo have the board switch setting on to boot to diagnostics? here's a pic of my test screen using my Blitz 99 boardset connected to a standard-res monitor. If the sync was off, I would get a scrambled or doubled pic of this image (well, actually the one just before it that looks the same but with different options):

Fixed!

I was working with several boards that wouldn't boot. I swapped ROMS around until I found the right combination.

Everything works well now. Dipswitch 2 is what it is.

Thanks Mod!

forgot you had this issue, I replied to your other thread anyway though, lol

glad you figured it out. hopefully you have the 49-way joysticks with yours.. the standard res thing is kinda negligible, but the analog joysticks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 8-ways. lol

enjoy sir
