Blitz joystick stick help?

refer back to this drawing. If you have +5v to i40 and there is +5v on pin1 of each of the i40>joystick connections, then you should have +5v at the joystick. Make sure you are verifying gnd as well. for instance, verify power at 9p8 then 9p3 then 14p1.

were you measuring at 9p3 or 14p1? Maybe it is just me but very hard to figure out where +5v is good. All we know is that it is bad at the joysticks.

unplug all joysticks from i40
measure +5v at (put probes on the backside of the connector)
9p8=?
9p3=? (measure at the header)
plug in 9p3 which goes to 14p1 to i40
measure +5v
14p1=?

Can you send me a better photo of the wiring schematic? When I zoom in I cannot read the different numbers to know where to measure.

9p8= 5.04v

9p3=? (measure at the header) - 2.08v

plug in 9p3 which goes to 14p1 to i40
measure +5v

14p1= 2.07v

My i40 boards all look different. I assumed 9p3 was for player 1 and 14p1 was the player 1 connector and that's what I got as my readings.

Is my i40 bad?

Did this ever get resolved?

I find myself in a same situation where only P4 up/down/left/right controls light up when moving P2 stick

All buttons work and all joysticks are getting 5v to them.

I swapped in another I40 and a spare joystick but no luck....

Adding a picture...

I resolved my issue!

Hopefully it could help someone else as I have seen a couple posts online regarding this issue but no resolution.

My issue came down to wiring for the from the I-40 Board (P1 Connector) to the Aux Adapter. Since I don't have an original Aux Adapter I am using the following 2x10 pin breakout board:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074TD7B46/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

MY mistake was that I assumed the wiring for the Aux IO 15 pin to 20 pin was straight thru for the first 15 pins.

The actual pin assignments are as follows:

AUX Adapter 15 Pin# -> 20pin Cable Pin#
1 -> 1
2 -> 3
3 -> 4
4 -> 5
6 -> 6
15 -> 1

Hope that helps someone else with the same issue!

Now that my 49 ways work I need to fix a the Player 3 stick which is registering Up when I press Up OR Down....

So on this issue, I have the same problem when I fire up the game the joy sticks don't work..... but after awhile they work fine. Why would this happen?
