Well I'm not very good at this kinda stuff but wanted to show you guys the Blitz '99 I picked up a couple days ago.
I had noticed on craigslist that there was a Blitz '99 I seen back a couple months ago that was re-posted. I didn't have the extra cash at the time but after he re-posted it we got to talking. It was priced at $500 but I talked him down to $400! I ended up setting up a time the next day. The neighborhood that the arcade was in as well as the home is always on the news for drug busts and shootings. I was a little sketchy at first but I apparently didn't care enough about getting ripped off or getting a gun pointed at me. So me and my brother in law went over and there she was sitting in the garage waiting for me. We turned it on and noticed it was blurry as hell (Didn't mention) but knew what it was right away and kept my mouth shut. There are some gouges and scrapes but that's fine. We ended up loading it up in the van and talked a little. The guy and his father were actually pretty cool. I asked him why he was getting rid of it and the others he had. He said they opened an arcade and were literally in business for 3 days. They received a letter from the city stating that they had to pay the $750 per arcade machine tax or else they would take action. They didn't even know about the tax. So they said. Not only that they had 2 months to get over $32,000! So they were forced to close down. I asked him how business was for those 3 days and it said it was packed all 3 days! And it got me thinking. Is it really consoles that killed the arcades or the outrageous taxes? I don't know personally. Maybe for some places. They showed me the sign they had for the arcade and wish I really would have taken a picture. It was actually really neat!
But the other games they had were a Asteroids deluxe all original $350, NickToons sit down racing practically brand new $800, 60-1 in a refurbished Donkey Kong for $600, and they had a deer hunting game for $400. He was hoping to sell them all as a package for $1,500. I looked at the hunting game and knew right away of course it was a Midway cab converted. I looked at the back and it was a Mortal Kombat 4! UGH! I was looking for 1 the longest time too. No wood was missing or anything. It was painted over black but who knows it may have been in pristine condition.
Enough of the rambling. Here are a couple pictures and I have a video of it at the end after I adjusted the flyback focus knob. AMAZING monitor! The main part of the video is my KI restore though.
