I've got a 99 Blitz PCB with hard drive. I've already checked the power supply and its pulling proper power. I also popped the power supply in and checked the voltage coming to the harness and all the voltages there are good too.
So...... Off that point, I plugged in the board and I get nothing. No rom check or anything.
Can someone please give me some direction or someone here on the board I can send the board to, to see if I can get this board up and running.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The lights are on on the board but nothing on the screen. I was at least hoping for a rom test screen but nothing.
I know its a board issue due to plugging in another board to the cabinet and getting it to boot up.
Any suggestions on where to start?

there are a total of 7 led lights on the board.
There are 3 red leds at the top right of the board by the harness connection, there are three leds towards the middle of the board going straight down which were green, red and green and there is also an orange led on the top left of the board next to one of the roms.
All of the leds are solid and are not blinking at all.
Thoughts?

Does this mean that you took the hard drive with the non-working pcb and put it with another pcb and got it to work? Or that you swapped another complete pcb/HD set in and it worked?

My guess would be the HD. I had one that did the same - LEDs came on but seemed to just keep cycling over and over - and it fixed when I replaced the HD with CF...

I've tried powering up the board with and without the HD and still got the same result of nothing coming up. What I meant by testing with another board is that I used a non-blitz board to test to make sure that monitor and wiring were good.
I unfortunately do not have another blitz or hard drive to test with.

If the three red LEDS near the jamma connector are on (and should always be), your power's good.

Like others mentioned, other LEDS on the board will turn on at first, and after a few seconds will start cycling and not just stay stuck on.

I think there are dip switch settings and/or jumper settings that'll control POST (rom check) coming up. On my boards it seems J11 should have pins 1 & 2 jumped, all other jumpers empty.

If I recall correctly, for my board in a standard resolution cab w/ 8 way joysticks I think the dips are: U9 1 on, U8 2 on and 6 on, all others off. That definitely causes the POST to come up.

Ok. J11 was the only jumped part on the board at 1 and 2 as suggested, the board dip switches were set to U9 and U8 as suggested the board was reconnected and all of the 7 leds are still solid.
Does anyone else have any idea where to go from here?
I'm scratching my head here.

You can get a new boot ROM and HD/CF replacement from ToplessZ. Maybe talk to him about testing your board for you...

Careful on reordering roms/HD, you may need an entirely new board!

I've got three seattle boards, got a couple untested, and three rom sets. One of the rom sets is bad, and one of the boards seems to be bad.

If I swap good roms from one of my good boards to the bad board, the board has the all 7 LEDS on constantly with no POST issue. Put that same set of roms in a good board and it posts and the LEDs beside power don't stay on constantly and cycle..

Now, I'm not sure if this means that board is dead, I have some questions out about it in this thread:

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=246648

But as far as I can tell from my amateur understanding, the board is possibly dead and the roms/HD could be fine.

Perhaps ToplessZZ or someone else can comment on the following question:

If all of the LEDS stay on without cycling after a few seconds, with HD detached, and you get no POST, is the board toast? Or just the ROMs?

Means the CPU is locked up and not cycling. Could mean wrong chips, bad chips, or bad pcb. Start by checking you boot and sound ROMs with the version on the pic chip and for bad images on them. That's the easiest step if you have a burner to check the Roms.

I unfprtunately have no way of testing the board due to not having anything to check the roms.
Any other suggestions?
Oh, I did pm Topless Z and am waiting for a reply.

seattle boards fail all the time. I would suspect the board.. I would buy another and use it to test it. If you have access to another seattle board game, you can test it with the HDD, security and boot rom. you can use atari seattle boards, so some options are vapor trx, carnevil, mace, or california speed.

If your going to order a kit, you might as well grab a blitz 2000 kit. It wil work on your seattle.

ToplessZ unfortunately doesn't repair boards anymore. :(
I ended up getting a board w/ HD from Komodo, so I'll play with it and see what happens.
If anyone has any other feedback please shhot me a PM or post to this blog.
Thanks
