interesting trend I noticed a few days ago, our Blitz 2000 Gold has some serious framerate issues when an actual game is playing, almost like when a computer is bogged down during a game.

I checked the voltage, it's dialed in very well at 5.15, it's not too low or too high. I was just wondering what could cause this, bad dipswitch setting? there's a multitude of different speed settings I think.

any ideas?

mabye someone converted an older slower board? there were two or three cpu speeds depending on what game... i could see a slow cpu causing this issue.....

also you dont happen to have a spare drive laying around to try do you?

also make sure the heatsinks have not fallen off of the chips..

heres more info..

it did work fine before to my understanding. all heatsinks are intact. I had to replace the Blitz '99 board that was in the cab originally cause the power connections got burned up like a Vegas board lol. this board was the one that got yanked when I got my Sportstation, so it was shelved for a long time.

the CMOS battery is dead on it. could that have anything to do with it?

EDIT: it just feels like something's getting hot on it, which is why I buy the heatsink theory, but everything's on it still.

i doubt it, but you need one anyways, so replace it and see whatcha get..

make sure you also have good +12, i think the drive runs on 12v...

voltage was about 12.80 or so, it was healthy lol. that's actually where I meter those boards at, the hard drive power port.
