ok, so i feel like a dumbass and, while in a hurry to fix a game on location, i threw a spare 25" K7000 in it and blew it up. i forgot that it the cabinet doesn't have an isolation transformer since it usually has a newer K7400 (that died, of course.)

using Randy's handy flowchart i got a new HOT and replacement diodes for D19-D22 from Bob. after the install the chassis made one nice pop then refused to function further; it no longer blows the cabinet fuse or the fuse-saver circuit breaker i have on F1 like it did before the new HOT and diodes, but then again it doesn't do anything else either.

what other items should i be looking at for failure? the C36 Critical Safety cap? voltage regulator? i have couple of donor chassis for spare parts.

just so we're clear it does not blow the chassis fuse.
i assume that is what you mean by the fuse saver.

check your B+ and see if you are in HV shutdown.
post the readings of each tab.

if R103 is open or too far out of spec it will not work.
if your VR is bad it will not work.

Peace
Buffett

yeah, it initially blew the chassis fuse so i threw in a fuse-saver circuit breaker which was tripping until after the new HOT and diodes were installed. so far it has held.

unfortunately more work will have to wait until Friday.

It's probably fried at least your voltage regulator, but unfortunately I've had several instances where if diodes were fried 1 or both of your ic chips in the center of the board may be gone too.
