I just picked up a really nice Blackout yesterday. Plays great except for two issues.
I did not have a lot of time to T-shoot last night, but will today.

Here is what it is doing.

Issue one.

When ever I press in the left flipper button and then release it the game says "Mission Complete" (No points are scored at that time though). If I press it really fast it will sometimes score 10 points.

Issue two.

Right lane change is not working. I am guessing I may just have to adjust the leaf switch(Did not get to that yet). The bulbs do work.

Any help would be great and I will report back with what I find later tonight.

Flippers cause a lot of vibration on the PF. An improperly adjusted switch can be triggered by this. (I had this problem on Flash Gordon with the extra ball target and it still haunts me occasionally on a pop bumper).

All fixed!

Speech played while left flipper was pressed turned out to be a bad diode on the left flipper coil. Fell apart in my hand... Replaced with a new 1n4004 and problem is fixed.

The scoring 10 points was caused by the left flipper coil and a bumper switch that was out of adjustment.

Lane change issue was a diode that had a cold solder joint on the switch. Lane change now works.

Not bad for my first pinball repair :)

I am curious as to how strong your flippers are. I did a complete rebuild on mine and they just seem weak. Maybe that is how these play? I cannot not even get the ball to go aroung the top for the orbit.

My right one seems slightly weaker, as I have to really be spot on to hit the orbit. But this just may be how it plays. That flipper also has an old rubber on it (Damn, that sounds dirty!)

I am going to take the flippers apart and check the out for gunk and see if I need to rebuild them. Planning to wax the PF so that might help a bit too!

I have played other tables around this time and the flippers feel weak, but most of my time was spent playing 90's pins which have a lot stronger flippers as a rule.

Right flipper has a busted coil sleeve, fixed and I can nail the orbit every time.

What is you table slant set to? I believe 6-9 deg is what you want. Also make sure you check the level and slant from the PF...not the glass like I did :)
