Someone had posted that they had a bunch of extra UV reactive paint chips leftover from a floor project.. I cant find the post now.. Anyway, getting ready to epoxy the floor, and looking to buy some!!

Andrew

That's me. I have about 20 pounds of chips left over from my floor project. My painter WAY over-ordered for me, as I really only needed about 1.5 pounds total for my 12x25 room. :p

The 3 colors I used are Rocket Red, Chartreuse, and Horizon Blue. All look VERY good under black light. I also have 3 additional colors that he gave me - blaze orange, hot pink, and signal green. I'll try to shoot some pics of the 6 colors in the bags tonight.

I have at least 2 pounds each of the colors I used, and at least 3 pounds each of blaze orange, hot pink, and signal green.

I also have a bag of my color mix that was left over from my project. It's about 1.5 pounds, enough to cover my floor size all over again with a medium broadcast just like my picture.

My painter tells me that the UV chips sell for $12 a pound retail, but I'd be happy to offer these for less than that.

Let me know what you're interested in getting and I'll see what I can put together for ya.

Here's the chips.

First, a picture showing what I've got...

wow

I'd love a bag made up of orange, blue, red, and the dark green.
My arcade space is only around 12x12, so likely no more than a pound mixed I would think.
I'll send you a PM too.

Thanks!

Steven

I bought a pound of each color. My space was essentially 22x30.. I used maybe half, if that, and I threw it down pretty heavy. BTW its friggin awesome..

Thanks for that - it does provide perspective.

That said, if anyone would like to change their order (so they don't have too much) feel free.

FYI - these are available from my painter again, so don't worry if you run out, I can get more.

Damn you, now I'm swaying away from carpet AGAIN!! :D These look awesome and will be much cheaper than Shockwave carpet but I'm doing my garage so the carpet will be nicer when its cold out. Will the epoxy coating help block the cold from getting in the room?

The epoxy keeps the floor a BIT warmer than bare concrete, but that's not really the biggest concern. It's the hardness of the floor. I wear my shoes when I'm in there, just because standing on a hard floor for so long can be hard on your feet.

Stools are coming soon, so that might help a bit too.

choices, choices...

Did you use a black base coat, or is that a dark blue?

For those that are interested you can buy chips here as well.

They are $12.97 a lb.

Been looking into this, as Carpet was going to be a bit much for the amount I need. But I'm still going to need 10lbs or flakes, plus epoxy paint, and clear.

Anyone care to share their method of applying these bl chips to a concrete floor. I'm gonna use rustoleum epoxy concrete paint. Do you need to put a clear coat over the bl chips?

10 pounds of flakes? How much coverage are you doing? I did 300 square feet with a medium broadcast and used just over a pound. You're going to cover 3000 square feet?

You put down the epoxy coat, and you 'sprinkle' the chips while the epoxy coat is still wet.

After the epoxy coat dries (usually a few days) then you can apply the poly top coat.
