Anyone have any extra blacklight carpet samples laying around they don't want anymore? I have a small area in my basement with a few machines i'd like to stick some blacklight carpet samples around. I can cover shipping costs if need be. Thanks.

I have some I'll send you. Email your address to adminATataricadeDOTcom.

Is there a such thing as REASONABLY PRICED black light carpet? Instead of charging by the yard they charge by the foot at places I have seen. My little 10x20 1 car garage space would cost about $500-$600 for the carpet alone. Sheesh...

2Pac you got it, they're on the way.

Hey Frizzle, most places sell by the square yard. Your room is 10'x20' which is 200 sq. ft, which equals a bit over 22 square yards.

Patterns I sampled averaged around $10-12 per square yard, so you'd be looking at a lot less than $500-600 for your area, more like $250-300. Here are some sites to check out:

- ValueCarpetOnline: most of what you see on that page is NOT in stock, and you won't be able to order unstocked pattens (the minimum to order an unstocked item is like 1000 sq. yards or some crazy amount).

- Omega Flooring: most everything you see on that page is available. Call them for more details, they're good people.

- Kid Carpet: they have most everything on that page and will beat any price if you opt for one of those patterns.

- New Millenium Carpets: again, a lot of what you see there is not in stock and to order it, you'd have to order a huge amount. Call them for more details, they're very helpful.

- There's also Astro Carpet Mills but I never contacted them regarding what they have.

Keep in mind that many patterns are duplicated from company to company, but they are often not the same exact pattern even though at first glance they may appear to be (i.e. one company's "Confetti" will look the same as another company's "Starry Night" but I found that there's a difference not only in exact pattern style, but also quality).

The best thing to do is get samples of all the patterns that you're interested in, and put them on the floor in your game room under some black lighting.

You could always get old motel room carpet for free when they tear it out. The patterns are unique, organic and will cum alive under a blacklight. (So I've heard...)

Make sure to get the matching bedspread to use as curtains

I am confused... a sampling of VALUECARPETONLINE says:

$3.25 sq. ft for confetti - colorburst...
$2.68 sq. ft. for contempo black...

...etc...

200' x $3.25 is $650.00
200' x $2.68 is $536.00

The 2nd website does not seem to list prices, but the 3rd website (Kid Carpet) also lists prices similar to those above. Am I going crazy or what?

Yeah I just saw the same, and that all seems strange based on my pricing research and what I spent. I bought through Omega and what I quoted was based on their pricing. Maybe I got some amazing deal but I doubt it. I wouldn't think that they'd be that much cheaper than their competitors. Call a few of those places tomorrow when they open and get a quote based on your area (22.3 sq. yards) and post back I'm curious now.

I was looking for carpet 12x12.5 approximately, and it was gonna be $300+ - I'd like to build onto the arcade room one day so that would be a wasted investment.

I noticed one of the sites advertises "2nd quality" stuff at about half the price...did you get the 2nd quality stuff?

I've got a bunch of Shockwave carpet lying around. If you don't have a sample of that let me know. I'm going to make a post about it in a second....

Couldn't you just make your own? I'm pretty sure the carpet in my room will glow under a black light.
