Feels so good to get my Widow back in the game row.. I moved it to the garage a few months ago to install new sideart.. Well to make a long story short, I didnt have time and it got to cold in the garage.. So I pulled her inside last week, and installed the art last night.. Im very happy with it.. I would not call it a restore but it got a nice face lift.. New sideart, marquee, and cpo..

Here are a few pics.. I know a few local guys wanted to come play it a few months ago... Your welcome to come check it out now..

Thanks guys:) I hope to start working on Quantum again soon, really want it in the line up...

Would you mind describing the cabinet prep you did?

Great lineup there-

The Control panel was stripped down painted and overlay installed.. The sideart I had a tough choice..

Option #1. The machine was a factory Black Widow converted back to Gravitar when I got it.. My first plan was to use factory size sideart.. I could see exactly where the old Black Widow sideart was, there was still a residue line..

Option #2 was to strip cabinet to bare wood and install full size sideart..

Option number #3 was to clean cabinet and install full size Black Widow art over Gravitar art..

The cabinet was in very good shape, I had no wood repairs that needed to be done..

I chose option #3.. Here were my reasons.. All factory Black Widows came with Black Widow art installed over Gravitar art.. I wanted to follow the steps Atari did when they released the game..

Reason #1 that I went with full size art. There were a few scratches in the outer white areas that would not have been covered leaving, me having to find a way to fix those.

Reason #2 I went with fullsize. I have seen alot of posts on people installing the factory size art, and only one with fullsize. I measured using factory size art and residue lines on the cabinet. This gave me proper placement..

So I ended up with all areas covered looking nice and new, and near exact placement where atari installed the art.. And the bonus was the outer white areas look new too...:)

I was lucky enough to have a cabinet that was in such good shape.. I wont be this lucky with Quantum.. It will be a full strip down...

WOW! I love it! Can't wait to get my Black Widow and Gravitar machines fully restored...this post may accelerate them in my queue.

Hopefully we get a run of the cpo's, I know Takeman is working on that.

Looks amazing!! great work, hope one day to find a cab to put together my BW kit.

Looks great Dan, I only need a populated Black widow control panel and I can finish mine. If anyone has one for sale let me know.
