I have a stack of Atari power bricks that need new 5 position fuse holders. I know Bob Roberts sells them but at $5 a pop I figure I can purchase them in bulk elsewhere. I need about 20-25 to fix what I have + a reserve for future use.

Does anyone have a link to these? I prefer the solid looking black colored holders as opposed to the flimsy gray open frame fuse holders. I've found those but not the black ones.

Last I talked with Bob... those are no longer in production and he can't even get them :( I think he only has them as part of the Atari Power Brick repair kit and does not sell them separately...

If you could find a source for them it would be great... those grey ones are crap!

I'm curious too. I stopped using Bob's because the quality started lacking. The fuse "clip" portion, and the solder "tab" portion are now two separate pieces. They are fastened together with a rivet....all I've gotten have been very loose at the rivet point....thus, making for a definate "hot spot" down the road. Previously, the clip and the tab were all one piece....no riveted connection to weaken and burn up. I've had good luck using the gray plastic ones you mention, but you have to be careful which ones you buy. I've seen two grades of those being sold.....a 10 amp version (maybe it was 15 amps?)...and a 30 amp version. Not all sellers tell you which version they're selling (obviously, the lower amperage version is cheaper). In an Atari set-up, you have to have the 30 amp version to prevent burning up.

Just great. Hopefully I can find a source somewhere. Thanks for the responses. If I find any I will let you know. Still looking for links though. Any other help is greatly appreciated.

I found this page and came up with a part number of BK/S-8202-5 but I think it is only good for 20 Amps. It's a start.

but this may be better:

354-905-GY

but this may be what I am finding available everywhere else.

Comments?

Both of those links are to the open frame break-away kind you said you didn't like.
When I started looking for a better alternate....here's what I use (note: these are the break-away kind)

They are rated at 30 amps at 300 volts.....more than enough to meet an Atari's demands.
