Black Knight switch issues after Rottendog board install

Having an issue with my Black Knight.

Let me first preface this by stating that this is NOT a post slamming or questioning the quality of any boards made by Jim (Rottendog). I feel this is a QUALITY product at an extremely good price.

Here's my issue:

I installed the Rottendog CPU / Driver board combo, along with the Rottendog Power Supply. The installs went fine, and initally, the machine worked 100%. it played for a few games with no hiccups at all (I had been getting random lockups before the replacement boards. That issue is now GONE).

What happens now is that sometimes (not always) either the upper playfield multiball lock or the trough switches will not seem to register correctly. The machine will just sit there as if a ball was in play (or missing). It will sometimes correct itself after a while, then play okay for a while more. Then, sometimes, the issue will resurface during the same game, sometimes not for a few games, or not at all for that session.

I have been in contact with Jim at Rottendog, and he did give me some steps to check, which I completed. The last time this happened, there were 3 balls in the lower trough, and the machine would not start a game. I first insured there was a credit in the machine (which there was). I then went into the diagnostics, and all 3 switches DID register in the switch test. Exited the switch test, tried to start a game, and nothing. Just attract mode. The, about 3 or 4 minutes later, I pressed the start button, and it started a game.

So this is where we're a little confused at this point.

Has anyone else had this issue, or do you have any ideas on other things to check out? Jim has offered a refund if I return the board, but I would rather not have to do that, because the board DID clear up so many other issues the machines was having.

Thanks for any input you may have.

Thanks,
Chris

Did you do new molex connectors yet?

Tried jumpering it right at the driver board, so see if you can isolate it to the board or wiring?

I assume you already cleaned the switches, and adjusted them.

I did clean the contacts but I will check them again tonight (or when I have a monent in time). As far as the Molex connectors, any in particular? I have not changed those. I am assuming they are the original. I did not have this particular issue before the board swap.

Thanks for the ideas.

Well, on the original driver board the switch connectors were the two on the right side top of the driver board. Not sure how the rottendog is arranged.
