Hey guys. Having an issue with my black knight. Every time the 3rd ball gets locked in on top playfield it blows the F5 - 3amp slow blow fuse on rotten dog power supply. Switches are working fine and diodes tested fine. Any idea what would cause this? Thanks in advance

Do all of the solenoids work fine in test mode? You're saying that you can lock balls fine just up until the third one locks in?

Not familiar with Rottendog boards, but what is F5? What is it protecting? The original Williams power supply has F5 as a 7A fuse for Logic. Looking at the Rottendog website, if the pictures are accurate, it shows the Williams Sys 7 power supply to have F5 as a 4A fuse, but can't find a fuse reference chart.

Does the fuse blow right when the ball gets locked or when the game tries to eject them?

not sure exactly if it blows on lock or trying to eject it. I never had good luck with rotten dog boards. And the costumer service sucks. I keep away from using the hem. But sticker on board at f5 shows 3amp slow blow fuse.

After replacing fuse they work in test till third ball lock and fuse blows.
If the kick out solenoid works fine during test mode then I wouldn't think it would blow during gameplay.

Maybe check the area around the physical switches? Like maybe when the 3rd lock switch stays depressed it's pressing against something and shorting it.

With troubles like this that are hard to diagnose and blow fuses, you may want to invest in a couple ratings of these breakers.
5A Breaker
This one is rated for 32v DC. You'd have to get a higher rating for solenoid circuits.
For solenoid circuits, you'd need something like these.
4.5A 60v
5A 50v
You can solder a blown fuse to the bottom tabs or leads with alligator clips with the correct wire gauge and viola, push button resettable fuse.
After you find the problem, replace with a fuse for permanent use.
That way you don't go through 20 fuses.
