Hi all,
I am considering getting one of these pinball machines (will probably only get one) and I have played them all and love all three. What I want to know from the community is which should I go for? Which is easiest to maintain? Which am I likely to find for a decent price?

My first choice would be a Black Knight 2000, my second would be a Bride of Pinbot, and my third would be a Roller Games.

I have read that Bride of Pinbot makes a great game (which it does, I have played it recently at the Seattle NW Pinball show) however it takes a long time so as a multiplayer game, it's not as ideal as the others.

With all of these factors considered, what would you wise owners recommend for a single purchase?

I own Bride and have played alot of Rollergames..and have not played BK2000. With that in mind i would agree with the order you have in mind.

Bride of Pinbot is excellent BECAUSE it takes a while to master it and get through everything, and any mistake can put you right back at the beginning again. Makes it a good challenge.

Why would you want a game where you can beat it or get to the good stuff too easily....

What's the price of each? BK2K is the most desirable of those games and will be the easiest to sell later. Personally, I also like it the best of those choices.

I have bop and bk2000, they are both marvellous machines but very different from each other. if you are into sci-fi, space atmoshpere, electronic sounds, asimov, sexy robots I suggest bop. but if you are a badass skilled player looking for the real challenge go for bk2000 you need to be quick with this one

All three are fun games!
Rollergames is a great playing machine. I like the layout of the playfield, and the magnet flipper shot, but the theme is cheesy....really cheesy- so is the music.
BK2K and BOP are also good games...but both are right flipper games. (Every important shot is from the right flipper)Master the Launch Shuttle Ramp shot on BOP and master the Skyway shot on BK2K, and your golden. Overall, I would say BK2K is the best game though.BOP is a CLOSE 2nd.
I've had a BOP, and currently own a BK2K.

Thanks to all for the recommendations. Looks like each machine is on an equal footing. Which makes my job harder to choose amoung them.
Are any of these machines particularly rare or highly sought after by collectors? Would that drive up the price? In other words am I likely to get a Roller Games (by the way I LOVE the cheesy theme) for a lot less than the other machines?
How are each for maintenance? Part of me is worried that the rotating face of the Bride means more likelihood for breaking down. True?

And to answer the question of why is a long game like Bride considered bad, I am just thinking if I have friends over for a party and we play Bride, I don't want one player hogging the machine for 45 minutes before the next person gets their turn. Is that ever a factor? Black Knight and Roller Games seem to have a higher turnover of games. In a party situation that might be preferable.

I have not played much Rollerblades so I can not comment too much on that game.
If it were me, I would go with the BoP. I loved the game as a kid, and when I see it today, mostly at shows, I take the time to play it. BK2k...for me is just an ok game, maybe I feel that way because I prefer the origional BK.
As for game play in parties, never played either in such a setting. I find with my pins when played during a party, most folks do not mind when I step up to the machine and play one ball for a long time. It gives people a chance to watch the game in action and possibly figure it out. They also get excited as I can take the action of a machine farther along than most of them will ever see, ie multiball on multiball, shooting challenges, etc.
I often start multiplayer games with guests by explaining some of the table goals as often many people have no idea a pinball game can be so involved and layered. Then when I do run a long ball, alot of people watch to learn or are intruiged it is so involved. Long ball play also gives people a chance to chat amongst themselves or excuse themselves or go for more refreshments.
As for repair, never owned either, but own a late 80's Williams game, and so far it has not proven any more difficult to maintain than the other machines I own. Be sure to look under the playfield and at the main board for signs of significant repair/hack wire job/acid damage/bad soldering/obvious repair work/cleanliness. Check the plastics for cracks.

Here is my 2 cents....1st-BOP, 2nd-BK2000, and 3rd-Rollergames. All 3 I actually like! Like Tec said, Bop is gameplay is based ont the shuttle ramp via the right flipper but the music is way too cool and the Metamorphisis is awesome! Bk2000 is another right flipper game but my problem with this game is that most of the gameplay is involved with the upper-playfield and really nothing there on the lower albeit this game also has great music. Finally, Rollergame, which has a good playfield layout. It's a good beginner pin, very easy to rack up high scores and has great flow as well. My biggest gripe with it is that the music is god-awful and I'm being polite!

you might get rollergames for cheaper but it's hard to resell it, opposite with the other 2. easiest to resell might be BK2K but the BOP is way better for parties! it's the sexiest of all pins. never seen somebody playing one ball for 45 mins btw. if you master the right flipper you can make her human in no time...imagine the metamorphosis at your party...ppl would go crazy!!! hey guys check it out, josh did the metamorphosis!!! watch this!!! the machine shuts down and...starts heartbeating!! oh my god, she's alive woooooow!!! not to mention she has flashing nipples. and the music? you can actually dance to it! there is a diamond plate version of bop. that would be my choice and yes, girls love it too.

Yes, Rollerblades would commonly sell for a lot less than B2K... maybe even half as much. I've seen RB for $500-750 but B2K is more like $1250-1500 or more. I'm not sure where BOP falls but I'm guessing in the middle of those two.

You can adjust the difficulty settings on any pin if your friends are getting too good at them. It's not really a factor.

When you're REALLY good, you can hit the ramp with the left flipper...

I own BK & bk2000, so I am biased, but I think bk2000 is fun fast game with great sound. (good flashy game) Bk was a must own game for me as it got a lot of quarters in my childhood.. Bk2000 is a nice upgrade.

only played BOP a few times, but it looks like there is a lot to do with that one. (good for long term) If you like and plan to own a pinbot someday, I would grab it.

My buddie has roller games and he really likes it. I only have played it 3 or 4 times so I really have no opinion. Somewhat a rare game, so if you really want one, grab it.

I guess it comes down to what game you like to play and if you only plan to own 1 pin. I would think BOP is the deeper game.

I am pretty sure price might be a factor. BOP is around $1500, Bk2000 is about $1500, but roller games is about $1200. (prices might be less now due to the economy)

Personally, I would select off the board and go with twilight zone. I know 2 people in the last week to get working ones for less than $2k. Granted that seems pretty cheap to me, I think tz is worth $2500-$3k
