Black and White Video on Growl ( Color Issue )

I recently got a Growl ( http://arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8017 ) jamma board and it was listed as being tested and working but when I tested it the video was in black and white. I am using a VGA pcb with S-video and the picture on all of my jamma boards comes up clean and in color, so I don't think that is the problem.

Is there any way to fix this or is it something more serious that the seller didn't mention?

Also, I can't seem to find a free play option in the dip switches, I am assuming that there isn't one unless anyone can enlighten me.

You're using a TV adapter with the game, which model what brand ?

It's unlikely to be the game board, it's most likely the TV adapter. Some shut off color if the video sync is out of spec.

My money is also on the supergun being unhappy with this specific board. You really need to try this on a proper cab to rule out the board.

Alright, thanks for the input guys, I'll try to find another way to test this thing out. The board loads slower than any other board I have tried, and I thought it was pretty odd. Someone mentioned a potential problem with 5v but was too vague.

Apologies for necroing this topic but I got in a Growl board today and I'm having similar B&W/sync issues on my supergun (MK30 ADCAP from Jasen's Customs, using JROK encoder). Is this a common issue with other Growl/Taito F2 boards?
