I'm going to be picking up an Omega Race mini hopefully in the next week or so here and it seems like it's in decent condition except it's missing a PCB.

I've been looking for a set without much battery acid damage and have found a couple but they were well out of my financial range.

I came across a seller on eBay that sells *TONS* of PCBs and he listed two Omega Race PCBs, one description mentioned acid damage... one did not. I wrote about the set that didn't mention it to make sure there wasn't any obvious damage. The seller responded "none that I can see thanks". I put an offer of $66 on it(he wanted $75) and he accepted. No problem and I was very happy. :)

I received the boards this past week and first thing I notice when I open up the package is obvious battery acid damage around where the battery was installed. I mean, it's obvious. My wife can see it, my 9 year old son can see it, and even my 6 year old daughter can see it... it's that obvious. ;)

So, I immediately write the guy asking if there was a mistake... maybe he sent the wrong PCB set as he was selling two and I can completely understand that happening. No problem just let me know.

No response. :(

So now, now I just wrote him again through eBay so there is some proof that I'm trying to contact him in case I need to do a claim.

In his description he stated that there are no returns or refunds period. I was completely ok with that as long as I received the item he said I was going to receive. Except in this case I don't feel I did because he said "none that I can see thanks" to my question.

Am I wrong? Or is it really a simple matter of getting an item that is not as described and it should be made right?

Just curious what others think. Thanks.

Let me guess... Bill Burger?

I wish eBay provided a way to filter listings to NOT show you listing from a particular (list of) seller(s). He would be at the top of that list.

Your best option is to file a "SNAD" - significantly not as described complaint through PayPal.

Yeah paypal is incredibly lopsided towards the buyer anymore, which will come in handy in your situation since you're being screwed over by a seller. Just file a claim and they'll give you your money back.

Man I've heard so many bad things about Bill. However I've bought several boards from him and each was as described and shipped well. Maybe just lucky I guess.

Yeah, personally I've heard tons of bad things too but never had a problem with him. I think the issue is he sells so much stuff that 95% of it is issue-free and then the rest somebody gets screwed.

Actually, I take that back.. I've got a KI pcb that's kind of flaky that I bought off of him. It was kind of a toss up though because when I got it, it worked fine then developed issues later the same day. Not sure if he knew that or not, lol.

Actually not.. you have to be carefull which choice you chose when you state if you got it or not, damaged..etc.. I have lost 2 claims stating what I got was not in auction because Paypal says they do not get involved with the actual item or quality of it, just wether it was shipped or not. I think the only way Paypal will go in buyers favor anymore is to say you never received it, which if the buyer proves otherwise, puts you at a loss again. Paypal f'n sucks.

Yeah, I completely agree. Just by looking at his feedback you can see that most people are satisfied with what they receive... thus the reason I didn't even think twice about buying from him. ;)

If I didn't specifically ask about damage I wouldn't have even blinked twice. Just gets me a bit that I asked, he said "none that I can see thanks", and I receive a board with obvious damage.

My emails have been very polite and I basically was just curious if he sent the wrong board. Nothing negative to get out of either of them.

But this morning I received a reply and I can't help but get the inkling that he doesn't believe me. It says to "take a picture... or maybe 2 or 3 if there is "a bunch" of damage"... :(

I'll take 2 or 3 pictures after work... send them his way... and wait and see.

I was hoping I accidentally received the wrong board but after getting his response, I'm betting he never even looked at the board when I asked about it...

You got it right! It was sitting there in a box, he glanced over at the box - "hmm, don't see any battery corrosion, nope, none at all!"

Ebay does have that function. I have a bunch of the dipshitty ops around here that just sell the same MK4 over and over again blocked so I can see the useful stuff.

I feel your pain, the only winning I have gotten when buying through eBay is when something actually works when it arrives. Sad very sad.

So he requested pictures... I sent pictures... and I haven't heard a thing back so I sent pictures again. :(

Why can't people just be honest and admit they may have made a mistake? I mean, in my younger days I would be getting angry but now I'm just disappointed. I completely understand these kind of mistakes but to get defensive and/or ignore someone? That's just acting like you have a big ol' "L" on your forehead in my book. ;)

Oh well... if I have to start a claim I will... but I hate doing crap like that when it *really* is a simple matter.

If you paid via Paypal just file a claim - you will win.

+1 Claim the item was significantly not as described and you will win.

Guy got a board from me a while back and it stopped working after he used it for 2 days. He filed the claim they sided with him and he sent the board back. I confirmed delivery and was done with it. Was kind of pissed he didn't just contact me because I would have done a swap but whatever...

I think you probably should have been skeptical at $66 for an OR PCB with no acid damage don't you think??? I certainly would have know it was going to be bull shit.

How dare you expect a seller to be honest about his sale? ;)
This sucks hope things work out for you. It's terrible how overpopulated with thieves and liars this world is.
