Bipolar HF cap

So, if the polarity does not matter on a bipolar electrolytic, why are the lead lengths different? At least, I assume that installation direction does not matter. I was surprised to see that the replacement cap was somewhat bigger eventhough the values were the same. It might be a tight fit.

Bipolar high frequency electrolytic caps are often bigger than their conventional counterparts because they work harder and hotter.

The machinery that makes electrolytic capacitors makes the leads that way regardless of whether is polarized or non polarized.

Installing a bi-polar or non polar cap it does not matter which way you install it.
 
Thanks again Ken...FYI, it is replacing a BPHF. The one on the board is smaller than the replacement. It should fit, but it will be tight next to the flyback. You were right about what cap was bad. it was c19 on the tatung 66. On the ESR tester it was off scale.
