Bionic Commando - need to know EPROM types

You need 19x 27256 EPROMS, 4x 27512 EPROMS, and 1x 27128 EPROM.

TS01:
Main board 4E is a 27256 - factory label over AMD AM27256DC.

TS02-05:
All 4 on the daughterboard are 4x 27512 - factory label over Toshiba TMM27512D-20.

TS06-07:
Main board at 4L and 5L is 2x 27256 - factory are Mitsubishi brand.

TS08:
Main board at 8L is a 27128 - factory are Mitsubishi brand.

TS09-24:
All 16x of the EPROMS on the back of the board are the same 27256 chips. Factory are Mitsubishi chips, but schematic just says two sets of 27256x8 chips.

Nice Post!

The schematic made it easy.. would have been MUCH harder without it. I really hate that so many games don't have publicly available schematics. I've been looking for a Killer Instinct schematic for a few months. :/

THANKS!! That was immensely helpful!

It's always something...

I've started rounding up the EPROMs to repopulate this board and just noticed that there's what looks like a 40-pin processor socket that's empty (at position 3F or 3G) that I haven't seen before because it was under the small daughter board, can anyone tell me if it's supposed to be populated and if so what it is?

Please tell me this isn't a custom chip I'm never going to find...

Are you sure it's not 2F or 2H you're looking for? Looking at the schematics, I don't see any 40 pin chips identified as 3F or 3G.

2F or 2H (schematics are fuzzy) looks to be an Intel 8751H-88...a 40 pin EPROM-based CPU. See pdf page 35 of 56 on this pdf:
http://arcarc.xmission.com/archive/PDF_Arcade_Manuals_and_Schematics/Bionic Commando.pdf

I don't know if the contents are what the mame bionicc.zip is calling "ts.2f" or not.

See the 4th pic in from this ebay listing:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bionic-Com...-CAPCOM-Japan-Game-EMS-F-S-USED-/252932613410
...and it's definitely a 40 pin chip with an EPROM window.

Yeah I think you're right that it's really 2F or 2H, and it looks like it's that programmable microprocessor. I noticed in the MAME roms there's a file called "d8751h" among the Top Secret/BC bootleg files, so hopefully I can get a chip programmed and that'll take care of it, even if I end up having to put the bootleg ROMs on it.

I have 8751's available, but those are programmable CPU's (internal eprom) .
Is there a data image to be used on that chip?

Just curious...

Yep, you were exactly who I had in mind! :D I have a few other things I might be looking for too, but I'll get back to you on those later.

There's a 4kb file called "d8751h" that I'm assuming is the dump from that chip, it's under the sub-directory for the bootleg Top Secret which is among the MAME BC ROMS, my big question with that whether it is only for the bootleg or will it work for the legit versions too? Then of course I'm not even sure if this board even works when it does have all the correct chips, but I'm hoping I'll get lucky.
