hello Everyone,

My Big Buck Safari game powers on, but the game does not start up, and there is nothing on the monitor but a blue line on the right side. When it is powered up, the Dell 740 Optiplex's power button glows orange instead of green, and no game starts (see photos).

I have tried replacing the memory stick and the power supply to no avail. I even bought a refurbished Dell 740 and tried to install it, and still did not fix the issue. All I have now is a arcade game that won't start up, and a extra Dell 740 Optiplex computer that now has the Big Buck DVD in it and wont power up either to get the DVD back. Any help or insight is appreciated, thanks!

1. Connect the OptiPlex to a PC monitor and see if the PC normally boots up (connect it directly from the PC to an external monitor, don't use the jumper board.)
2. Connect a keyboard/mouse and reconfigure the BIOS settings (see manual, page 43)
3. See if the game boots up. If it still hangs, try booting with the DVD restore disk. (the game should boot fine connected to a PC monitor.)
4. If it doesn't boot up, verify your PC, I/O, dongle are connected correctly in the cabinet.
5. Once you confirm it boots up, then connect it back to the monitor and troubleshoot your monitor if it stops working.

What typically happens is the OptiPlex CMOS battery dies, the BIOS resets, and the default OptiPlex BIOS settings do not work with the way the operating system is configured. If anything, I recommend just replacing the battery anyway to save you the headache of redoing the BIOS settings again down the road.
