Hey guys, I'm picking up a Big Buck safari with a bad monitor. Does anyone know if I can replace them with an LCD monitor or is the CRT intregal to these versions with the gun/targeting in the game?
I've never owned or worked on one so I'm looking for a little insight on these guys.
Thanks!!

Safari I think was the last one to use lightguns, so you need CRT for it

a lot of them came with those garbage Makvisions. I think PNL is still down, so if you were to send it out somewhere it would be Sharp Image and they apparently have a massive backlog.

There are a few people on here you could probably send the chassis to for repair. Discharge it safely and pack it really well.
You will have a better machine in the end.
Try @behrmr or @paul400

Hey guys!
Thanks for your help, thats kind of what I figured. But I've never dealt with one of these so thank you for your insight!!
Once I get the monitor out I'll probably hit Paul up, he's done done great work on my monitors in the past.

Thank again!!

Don't forget Buck World. That was the last one to use the lightguns, but I guess you could call it an upgrade to Buck Hunter Pro and Safari.

Actually, if you get the deluxe version of Safari, that game used an LCD, but also had the sensors around the monitor for gun tracking and different gun boards in the guns.
