Does anyone know if these two guns are cross compatible. Will a Sammy made shotgun work on a IT technology game like Big Buck Hunter or do you need to have the IT based gun? Inquiring minds want to know..

I have a big buck hunter that is IT made but has a sammy shotgun on it.. It works but doesn't register every hit.. more like every 3rd hit it registers. I've tweeked the monitor to death and I'm beginning to think that it's not the monitor brightness etc that it might be the gun type or just the censors. I mean, shouldn't these two guns work on either system as long as they are wired right? I'm just trying to find some clarification before I spend any money on parts..

Thanks.

For the record, I did manage to get the monitor and gun to play nice together. It is registering all the shots now.. I've been told that they may not be compatible and this may be true for all the newer IT and Sammy stuff but as for this one it certainly is working.

The answer is yes. Both guns will work if wired correctly. I have tested both a Sammy gun and an IT gun on my BBH2. I have always had better luck with the Sammy gun registering on older monitors. How well does the gun track in the test mode? If it tracks well in the middle of the screen and not around the edges, it may be a monitor issue. I would try a degaussing coil first, as it can help with this issue.
