Doing a little research on Big Blue Gen 1 cabs. I want to know the following:

Does the control panel box, come out? I know the control panel will come off the top, but the box the panel sits on, is that removable too? For example, on Konami cabs like TMNT and The Simpsons, the box is held in place with just four bolts. Is it a similar setup on Big Blue Gen 1 cabs? Or is that wood glued and stapled into the cab?

I will double check mine when I get home but I believe it's fixed in the cabinet. I don't think it is removable, as it sits atop the narrower section of the front panel where the coin door is installed.

Even with the CP installed the cab is only 29-30" wide, so it's not an issue. On the Konami 4P's the box is removable because otherwise it doesn't fit through a 36" door in either orientation. Too deep and too wide.

The lower half of the control panel does not come off. There's also some small construction variation between the ones built by Dynamo and the ones built by 3-KOAM/WSI.

Thanks. Yeah, if it's fixed it might be a challenge for me to get it downstairs. The cab is just so deep. I have a large landing but I think it will be just a tad too big to get it down.

The CP does not come off (easily). I mean, it looks like maybe it *could* be removed if there's no glue involved but it's definitely not like the Konami cabs where there are a couple bolts holding the box on.

It's only 29" wide, but full depth front-to-back is 43". And don't forget 77" high.

It's called Big Blue for a reason. But it *is* absolutely glorious!
