Big Bangers?

I see there are tickets to the Event any idea how much? What do they do baracade off a couple blocks so you can't get in without paying or are the tickets to get in a certain building?

Last year, the main event was in the Bridgeview center. Parking outside was free, and you just had to pay the entry fee to get in. They also had a dedication of a park downtown, and had 1 block of downtown blocked off in order to do a recreation of the Life Magazine photo shoot in front of where the Twin Galaxies arcade was.

The city is happy to have the convention, the hotel offered up cheap rooms. They want us there.

I am going to have my brother in law weld me up a pac man grill to make pacman burgers in pacman park!

Bring a game with you for the event and get a free family pass!

This year i intend to trailer a couple of games there. Most likely they will be Elevator Action, and DK JR. I know this is the 30 year mark on DK, so i may throw a DK in the DK JR cab unless someone thinks there will be plenty of DKs to go around.

Sweet on the free pass thing! My wife and my nephew and i went last year and had a great time. The arcade games were a little lacking, but a few were brought by some generous individuals. I remember seeing a Joust, Stargate, Rally X, and it seems as though there were a couple others. Tim McVey brought his Nibbler. There were some nice vintage game displays. And Pac Man Pat and Starworlds Arcade set up an awesome room with just about every pac machine variant. My nephew played in there for hours. Also Bill Mitchell handed out free hot sauce!

The Time Life photo attendees were Bill Mitchell, Steve Sanders, Mark Robicheck, and Joel West. Also in attendance but not pictured in the photo (but should have been) was Matt Brass and Walter Day.

Other big names in games were there,
Tim McVey
Mark Alpiger
Roy Mr odd (err i mean Awesome) Schilt
Todd Rogers
Steve Weibe
and others (sorry if i missed you)

Can't wait until this years event. Last year i arrived on Friday and stayed through Sunday, this year i plan on attending thursday as well. It's 155 days from now ( i have a countdown calendar on my phone set for that one event)

There probably will be lots of DK stuff, I believe Star Worlds is doing DK's 30th, much like they did with Pac-Man last year. Probably wouldn't hurt to have both PCB's handy though. Oh, and for the Life Magazine shoot, you missed Ben Gold. He was in the photo too (as well as one of the original cheerleaders :) )

Yeah! i totally forgot about Ben! He was so nice! And the cheerleader gal. Oddly enough the cheerleader that still lived locally didn't attend.

I don't have a DK board yet but i am trying to fit one in my budget, so if i do get one i will probably bring it too.

I plan on attending this year. It was a great time last year with tons of stuff to do! Everyone there was super nice. It's always great to hang out with Tim McVey, Walter Day, and everyone else that helps make the trip more than worth it. :)
