beware of the centipede on Cincinnati Craigslist for $100

i asked the seller if it was for sale and he said he had so much interest for it he was going t let it go to the person who came over and offered the most money for it. if you wanted a higher price list high and work your way down.

centipede

I just sent the seller the following email in response to his ad. I encourage any others to do the same; I've been the victim of this type of garbage in the past after ruining an entire day's plans to drive 3 hours for something on Craigslist only to be told the price had trippled due to interest in the item!

Hey,

I'm in San Diego and have always wanted a Centipede machine. I have a friend in Cincinnati who can pick it up and take care of the shipping for me. Is the game still available at $100?

Talked to him also....... What a dick. Told him good luck and no thanks!

Do you have a picture? I had something similar happen to me from a seller in Hattiesburg for a Centipede for $100.

Maybe it's time to make some really over the top offers, if he can hold it for three weeks of course...

Yeah we should all make him rediculous offers just to F*** with him and make him think he's sitting on a gem only to get a slap in the face via reality in the end. lol

people should list the item forsale for what they want to get out of it and stick with it. I had two negative experiences from Craigslist. I drove acrossed Town to get a game only to be told that someone offeered him $25 more and he would sell it to me if I matched it. I walked away. the other time I answered a ad for a free space invader game amd I was first to response and was on the way to get it only to be told someone called and said he would like to get it so he could donate it to his church so the guy felt that was the best thing to do. so I turned around.

a friend of mine answered a Craigslist ad for a CIRCUS VOLTAIRE that was offered for $2800 he was first to call and the wife answered and said the husband went to the store and will be back and call you . in the meantime someone else called and got the address and was waiting in the driveway for the husband to get back with the cash.

on a positive note about a year ago a double dragon was listed here for $50 I was first to respond and couldn't get it til later that day. the seller on here held it and sold it to me even though he said he had many emails offering more money for it. that's a man with integrity.

I talked to him as well. I just basically said I would show up with the cash and a dolly when I promised and that I would not participate in a auction so if he was interested give me a call and I would be there in a couple hours with 100.00 cash. He was cool nice older guy that got bombarded with emails. He kept his word to me as I did him I showed up when promised. The good part it has a totally rebuilt g07 new fly and all, rebuilt track ball oh and it does work just needed the edge connector reseated on. Pics or it didn't happen I know

Yes, that's quite BS. I've had people offer me more for an item I had listed for sale and then get upset at me that I wouldn't let them buy it out from under someone else (already agreen upon the when and how much). I'm an honest guy and think that the first come first served principle works well, especially for CL. However on the buyer side of it, I've been screwed multiple times because a lot of people take whoever will pay the most and/or quickest.

Suckers walk, money talks.

It looks like a nice game for $100

I love it! Most sellers on CL are good people and if you treat them right they will deal honestly. For the others....just let it go.

nice to see it turned out the way it should. give a price person calls tell them the time they will be there show up and deal done.

I tried to get in on this game as well... got a generic email from the guy. Glad to see someone on here picked it up! I asked for an address to come get it and got no response other than the generic email... wish I had gotten a better response!
