I sold my Crossbow machine a few days ago to Terminator (nice guy). I told him that I planned to replace it with either a Gravitar, Punch-Out/SPO, or Sinistar, and he told me that he knew someone who had a Sinistar cockpit. I had seen aesop's Sinistar a few months ago at his arcade party, but had kind of forgotten about it. A few PMs and a couple phone calls later, and here she is in my garage:

The cabinet is in good shape and cleaned up nicely with some Simple Green, Armor All, and a little bit of Magic Eraser. The monitor is a bit finicky, but a cap kit oughtta fix that. The only other issue is that the seat has a decent sized crack in it that I'll need to repair.

I have an unusual streak of acquiring games on rainy days, and today was probably the worst of the bunch. It poured down rain while we loaded it in the truck and quickly covered it with a couple of tarps. Big thanks to Aesop for working out a deal with me and helping me load this heavy badboy.

I have never seen the Sinistar cockpit version in person. It looks like it could fly off by itself. Great game, although really hard, at least, to me.

Woah, that is amazing! As if Sinistar wasn't cool enough already!

Congrats on getting the new game. That thing puts my Omega Race cockpit to shame. :D

That game has a special place in my heart. It's one of those games I remember from the early days...we had a cockpit just like that at the local bowling alley and I was imprinted. I don't know if I would ever have room for one but it sure would be cool. Congrats on the pickup!

not sure what it is I like about the sinistar cockpit. People have pointed out how unlike other games, the cockpit version of sinistar doesn't actually add to game play. I have to agree they are right. It's not like a pole position where you should technically be sitting while driving or even say an EDOT where there are added lights and sounds etc. Still I always really liked the sinistar cockpit and if I ever have the extra room i might just get one.

It's one of those cockpits that looks like it needs to be modified into a dragster. Like it's dying for some wheels to be put on it. I dunno. Not sure how the driver will be able to see where he is going though.

I can answer this for you. The reason you like the sinistar Cockpit, is because by all measures, it should be stupid. Like you said, there's no steering wheel, so why in the fuck is it inside a cockpit?

BECAUSE ITS FUCKING COOL, that's why. It's Sinistar, Coward. MOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!

And because you can crank up the sound inside to just absolutely booming levels and forget about the outside world while you play!
