I have a cabinet with a marquee but no light. Took the marquee off and looks like there has never been a light fixture installed at all in this cabinet.

So what's the best option for a light? 12v LED tube?

In "light" of new processes, you might want to find one with an LED tube bulb.

Edit: sorry I missed your mention of LED in your first post. I'm old.

Find a light you like that plugs into the wall. Cut the plug off and wire it into any 120v AC power in the cabinet after the power switch.
I think that's how all my cabinets are wired, but does it hurt going 12v led tube and hooking it up directly to the power supply?

You would be changing the current draw on the power supply. Chances are, it would be fine, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Marquee lights are always 120VAC.
In the back of the lighting fixture isle at Home Depot, they have a selection of "under the cabinets" LED light fixtures. Pick up the cheapest one. It will work perfectly.

Easiest way to go…

Get a kitchen 12" or 18" LED and either screw it or Velcro it somewhere where the marquee is located inside of your game. Get a multi-outlet extension cord. Plug the light and your game into the outlets of the extension cord. Run the other end of the extension cord outside of the game and plug it in!

Thanks,
Jason

Something like this will work:

Looks like only two wires come out of that. Does it matter that it doesn't have a ground?

Nope. Just make sure you hook it up correctly. Typically, the ribbed wire is neutral (white) and the smooth one is hot (black).

Edit: I swap in one of those fixtures in my Millipede cabinet here:
