Best way to store side art? Flat or Rolled?

I think that flat is of course better then rolled, if you have the means. It takes up alot of space so if you have alot of side art then you will be stuck with all of the poster sized, or bigger, containers. I feel that rolled is just a pain when it comes to actually working with and applying the side art. I have never seen it damage anything though so i guess either way is fine. Depends on your preference.

I keep all my side art flat underneath the bed. I hate dealing with rolled side art... I also never apply it "right out of the tube" so to speak I lay it out way before to let it rest a bit.

I don't have any now, but how about in a poster frame? That way it stays flat and you can enjoy on the wall until you are ready to install?

That would be a big poster frame... unless you're talking about the small conversion cabinet art. Full cabinet art would be a lot harder to frame.

I've never had a surplus of side art, so the problem has never come up.

Must... resist... urge... to post... Crystal Castles pic....

I have some really huge posters and I was able to find those cheap cardboard and plastic poster frames for them. The frame is bigger than a cabinet.

My friend Matt has DK, DK Jr and Mario Bros. framed on his wall, obviously that is much smaller. :D

And post that picture!

Thanks. That confirms my guess. My only concern with laying it flat is that it might bubble or something over time but I plan on sandwiching it between some cardboard so I think it will probably be fine.

i agree with the majority flat is the way to go. keeping it broodwiched in cardboard and putting something heavy over it is how i store mine. Moisture should be the only thing to cause it to bubble (keep in mind the adhesive can dry out over time).

Nice! I know that keeping it Tighed up will ruin it. BTW the "gh" is silent in my name, totally ruins my reply if you pronounce them.

good to know, i would have pronounced it like Tig (weld), saved me from looking like a dick lol.

you talking about tighe'n it up with twine or extra harness wire? :)

Exactly! :) don't blame me for a the retarded spelling it was my mother and my father for not stopping her. For a while I would just spell my name Ty, but I grew "Tighe"red of it! :D

I keep all my side art flat between 2 4x8 sheets of wood clamped together. It'll hold something as big as Asteroids or Star Wars side art. Keeping them rolled will eventually make creases and peel from the backing.
