I was thinking about doing a quick million on my Robotron and posting it to Endrien's (sp?) site to add to the fun there. Whats the best way to shoot in game video/audio? All I have is my wife's digital camera so I was thinking about getting one of those Jrok RGB to composite video things and recording the game play on my laptop. I've never uploaded to YouTube but I imagine that that site has some conversion that it does to reduce file size?

Your idea of getting Jrok's device is the best way, if you don't mind spending the money. Since that will be a direct feed, it will be far better quality than pointing a camcorder at the screen while you play.

And yes, YouTube applies its own encoding to all videos that are uploaded. The problem is, unless you have a "director's account", you can not upload videos longer than 10 minutes; so you'd have to split the video into multiple segments (I assume it takes longer than 10 minutes to reach 1m on Robotron).

It takes about 15 minutes to get to a million points. I figured that the Jrok thing was going to give me the best video/audio. Thanks!

You may have to view the game on the laptop screen as you're playing it though. I don't know if Jrok's device has RGB passthrough which would allow you to keep the arcade monitor connected while still sending a feed to the laptop. You could rig something up to allow for that (assuming it didn't weaken the signal too much having to go to two places).

Also, Jrok's device is for video only. To get an audio feed, you'll have to come up with something else, or just record the audio over the air using the laptop's mic (low quality, but perhaps better than nothing).
