I have shipped a couple before by wrapping them in bubble wrap and then sandwiching them in between two pieces of heavy duty cardboard.

I just got a big box of marquees and was wondering what the best way is? The cardboard sandwich method seems to have worked out just fine but thought I would see.

I read a few old threads where a few mentioned stretch wrapping the marquee to a board and then sandwiching it or putting in a box. We get a catalog here at work that sells custom boxes. Was thinking about maybe ordering some rifle boxes and trying those out. They would have to be cut down length wise but most marquees should fit nicely with proper packing material.

Whatever you do, spend a buck or two on insurance. The USPS will handle them a lot more carefully if it's insured.

As for the shipping. I'd shrink wrap similarly sized groups of marquees together to make sure there's no sliding or rubbing during transit, then wrap those bunches in a couple of layers of bubble wrap. Usually they'll fit in those big, flat priority mail boxes from the post office, but make sure you fill in the spaces with either more bubble wrap, shredded paper or popcorn.

Still, insure, insure, insure. $1 will make them much more cautious and hopefully they'll avoid getting slammed in a door like the last marquee I received (well-packaged but busted in 3 different pieces).
