I know this prob gets asked alot but I havent come across a DEFINITIVE answer...
In my case the sideart will come off fine by scraping but the adhesive is left behind.
Will the adhesive come off with the sideart if I use a hot air gun or is that going to make things worse?
Im trying to avoid TOO much scraping as the sides are in good shape and I dont want to have to fill any unnecessary gouge marks and what not...

Phet recommends a hot-blade device he got from Harbor Freight. Can't recall the name right now, but I'm sure he remembers...

Heat gun, pull gently. Never used a hot blade, but I've heated side art and used a putty knife to get, what I think, would be the same effect. It works, but can smear it. Time, heating, and pulling gently has worked on the 3 cabs I've done.

There is no definitive answer. Artwork that roasted in a florida warehouse for 20 years will take a different method to remove than the same art that spent it's life in an air conditioned home. Trial and error really.

+1

I got a nice Kawasaki heat gun off Amazon for a pretty decent price. It works wonders. I've used it on CPOs and side art. Before that, I simply used a razor blade and my fingers. It was a long, grueling process. :)

Here's my Mario Bros. CPO thread: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=126184

Thanks for the input guys, the heat gun worked GREAT, the only place I had any problem was were I had pulled off the corner of the sideart and the glue stuck to the cab (see first set of pics)
