I have never done it but I hear it is the best way to identify arcade PCB's. Looked at a EPROM Programmer on EBAY. it ie a Willem brand and it is about 30 bucks

#1 - How does it work

#2 - i only want to read Eproms - not program them. Will this do only that?

Thanks in advance for helping out a dummy.

It works by copying the data on the eprom. Then you take the file it made and plug that into the database looking for a match.

Assuming it is the standard Willis machine it will work fine for most eproms. You need to make sure every eprom type that you plan to look at is supported by the machine.
