I've searched the forums for tips on how to apply CPOs, and I'm really worried about screwing mine up. If someone can point me to a FAQ I'd really appreciate it!

Anyway, based on my reading it sounds like the best approach is:

1. scuff up the metal
2. spray with primer
3. wait a few hours
4. spray with black (satin/gloss/flat?)
5. wait a few hours
6. line up holes
7. very carefully apply the CPO from the top down

I've got some 3M High Strength Adhesive and Easy-Tack. Should I use either of these, or just use the included adhesive? Any tips for "rolling it out" and avoiding bubbles?

Thanks,
John

When I applied mine to the cp I put in a couple buttons,on the lower half of the cp,to hold it in place, one on each end.
I suppose you could tape it into place,if the holes aren't already cut out. Using the buttons makes sure it is in the exact position needed.
I then removed the backing from the upper half and worked my way up.
Then I removed the buttons and backing then applied the lower half.
Take your time and be careful not to let the cpo stick in the wrong spot.
Phoenix cpo's are fairly thick making then easier to apply.
No adhesive is needed if it is the Phoenix Arcade cpo.

as far as bubbles and what not, i use a wide rubber bondo spreader, and peel slowly and push the overlay against the panel with the spreader. assuming the holes on the overlay are pre punched, i generally line up and adhere that part of the overlay first, as that will make sure the rest of the overlay is straight on.

I applied mine to a wood Stargate cp and it went on quite easily.
Never had one bubble or crease.
I worked from the middle out to the edges while working my way to the end.
