I have a cab that has no leg levelers fitted and in addition has quite a deep base (the distance between the floor of the cabinet and the bottom of the edges - maybe about 2 inches?)

I have also needed to add some batons inside the cab sides / beneath the base at the rear to repair some badly damaged woodwork, and the cab has wheels attached at the rear corners too.

With that in mind, how can I install leg levelers to keep the repaired wood up off the ground a little? Do I need somehow attach additional wood then leg leveler plates onto this and the levelers themselves into the plates? And whats the best location for these, bearing in mind that the rear corners are somewhat out of action? Or is it better to add a complete reinforced base to the bottom?

Sorry if that explanation isn't too clear :(

You can buy oversized leveler plates (http://www.twistedquarter.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=36) or you can use t-nuts in a block of wood that will help support the corner. From experience, I use the latter.

Countersink a small hole in the top of the block of wood, just deep enough to hold the t-nut. Then drill the rest of the way through the wood for the shaft of the leveler. Insert the t-nut and slap some Liquid Nails on the top and screw the wood into the corner of the cabinet. The t-nut should now be between the bottom of the cabinet and the new wood bracing the corner.

When dry, screw the levelers in to the t-nuts.

The trouble is, as I was trying to explain (badly!) there's not really any "corner" at the rear of the game due to wheels and new woodwork. The front 2 corners would probably work fine. So the only option I can see is having the rear levelers installed about, maybe 6 inches forward, but of course they aren't getting as good support as they would if they were right in the corner. Would this be unrealistically delicate?

How would the oversized plates help? There would still be the problem that there's a good 1.5-2 inches of "headroom" between the actual cabinet base, and the bottom of the sides that the cab is currently standing on, therefore I'd need very long levelers which I guess would be very unstable?

With the wheels, the levelers need to be somewhat forward. Just look at at a Galaga or Ms Pacman cabinet botom. Here is a bad picture, but you can see the levelers are directly in front of the wheels on plates.

Is this a Nintendo cab? I recently reinforced the base and added levelers to my Mario Bros. and put a how-to video all about it on YouTube. Check my channel below if you want to see it.

If it's a Nintendo type cabinet, I found that you can go buy little nylon leg "sliders" that are designed for the bottoms of wooden chairs...they are about the size of a fifty cent piece and have a nail attached to them. I nail one to each corner of my Nintendo cabs and they slide VERY easily that way.
