Pole Position I, Pole Position II and Outrun.
I love Virtual Racing, but I never played the stand up version.
I'd avoid most Taito driving games. No offense...and I love Chase H.Q's concept...but they have a thing for making driving games that don't feel like you're driving anything. Steering on most of their games feels less like you're steering and more just generally turning the steering wheel in a vaguely correct position. Just my opinion of course.
