About 10 years ago I bought the plastic arcade leg levelers/sliders for a few of my machines. They slid pretty well over concrete. I still have them on the machine in the garage with an epoxy floor and still slides well. However, I'm planning on moving the game inside the house with wood floors.

What is the recommended product to use when sliding machines over wood floors? Should I use those typical felt bottoms for furniture on the existing legs or is there another product that is better.

Any help is appreciated in advance.

Thank you.

Those look fine. I've seen most Teflon ones with a thicker pad...

You can always put felt on the bottom of those to ensure no scuffs on a wood floor

From experience: It's not always about what padding the leveler has. Vacuum/Sweep the floor before you start sliding them around. All that has to happen is a small stone or something that's harder than the floor finish gets jammed up under the edge of the leveler when you are sliding and it will mar the floor.

I have wood floors also. i use the teflon feet. the thicker ones. slide like butter. have 36 games with teflon feet. they work great.

The teflon or any plastic ones can still grind grit into the floor, i prefer the felt bottom disc sliders, and i put double stick carpet tape inside the cup then put the original leg leveler in

Also have put a slab of carpet upside down under the cab works

Personally I wouldn't go with teflon on a wood floor, as I would think these would scratch too easily, as others have said, if any grit gets under them.

All of my machines are on wood floors in my apartment, and I use the beige felt pads that I get at Home Depot. I've tried two different kinds that they have. The cheapest ones are just the bulk square felt adhesive pads, Everbilt brand, SKU 153 048. You get two 4.25" x 6" pads per pack, for 3 bucks. Here's the link:

I cut each pad into 9 squares, so one pack usually does 2 cabs, doubling up the squares. I completely remove the stock leg levelers, including the metal housings, all screws, etc, so the bottom of the cab is just bare wood.

I have pretty uneven floors in my place, so I found that if I double up the pads (piggybacking two squares on top of each other, then to the bottom of the cab), I get enough clearance to not bottom out the cab on any humps. For one cab I think I went 3 high, but they're very cheap, so it's no big deal. They're also very sticky, so they stay put once adhered. I slide my games around frequently, and have never had one come off.

These pads are nice because they naturally compress enough to keep the cab level on uneven floors, unless they're really excessively bad (in which case you can piggyback more as needed). I also like that having them cut into squares allows them to fit nicely on to the bottoms of the cabs, right over the old leg leveler locations in the corners, and can be removed if you want to go back to levelers in the future.

I also originally tried the round 3" versions of these pads (also from Home Depot), which also work, but IMO are less ideal, as the round shape doesn't always fit as easily on some cabs, like the square shape does (which can go right in the corners), depending on how the cab bottom is built.

I've also tried one other option from Home Depot, which is the same 3" round felt pads, but with a 3/8" black layer of dense foam added to them. Here:

These are slightly nicer IMO, *if* the cab has a completely flat bottom (I used them on my Asteroids Deluxe), so you can get them far enough under so they don't stick out at all (as opposed to the squares, which fit right into the corners, so you can use smaller pieces). The foam also has a little more natural compression, so they're slightly more forgiving on really uneven floors, but the cab will still self-level with them, like it does with the squares. The only other catch is they're roughly 4x the price of the plain felt squares (roughly $6/cab, vs $1.50/cab for the felt squares).

Anyway, probably more than you wanted to know, but thought I'd share, as I did research this a bit, and have been happy with the results on my wood floors.
