So I just bought a dedicated irritating maze arcade that I need shipped from Maryland to the San Francisco bay area. I have been doing some research trying to find the best shipping company and it appears that NAVL doesn't ship arcades anymore. Is that correct?

The seller recommends Pilot Freight and some people on KLOV recommend STI. I have not had a game shipped in years and would love any recommendations or advice on the best shipping company available that picks up the game, wraps it, puts it on a pallet and straps it down so it arrives safely.

Any advice?

Pilot is a decent option, but you are going to pay an arm and a leg to if you need them to palletize and shrink-wrap or if either end is a residential delivery. You would be better off with STI. I've had good luck with uship.

I had an Asteroids cabaret shipped from Wisconsin to California last year. I went through Freightquote.com and the carrier was Old Dominion LTL. They did a great job and the price was reasonable - but I picked up the cab at the terminal to save money. Not to mention that it was a cabaret (small/lightweight). Check out Freightquote.

Are you sure NAVL doesn't? A buyer bought my millipede in Minnesota about 60 days ago and used them. Let me try to find the paperwork.

I'll get some quotes from STI, freightquote, uship and NAVL tomorrow. I want this delivered to my driveway so hopefully I'll find a good price :) thanks guys

Absolutely *NOT* Michelle from NAVL/STI.

SAIA is the only company so far that hasn't effed up a game I had shipped...

OK...here's a status update

Called NAVL and they do not ship arcades anymore so we can remove them from the list.

Called STI and they want $750 to deliver

Called SAIA and they do not pickup in Maryland.

Freightquote.com (using R&L Carriers) $630

Put a shipment request on uship - pending a bid

Wow , that sucks .

Don from Pinballs on the move is who I always recommend but he probably isn't going that far west and you have to wait a while for him. He's more in the realm of "one of us" than a shipping company but he knows what he's doing and he's far cheaper.

Thanks Jam for the recommendation but I will need a front door delivery for this beast. :)
What about http://www.coinopshippers.com/?

I personally have not used them, but have heard good about them from friends.

Also if you can have your game fully crated, you can use Fastenal and they are about $200.00 coast to coast.
Thanks Asteroidsnut. I sent them a quote request so we will see what they come back with :)

You could pay to have it sent to a shipping location and then pay a collector buddy $200 to bring it to your house and still come out ahead.

The last time I had a game shipped was 2 1/2 years ago. It cost $400 from California to Nebraska. I looked up the shipper information and it was called Beltman logistics phone # 1800 959 8880.

ok, well the rep at freightquote.com was very helpful and took good care of me. I know it was a bit more expensive then other shipments but this is a huge game and is going from coast to coast so that is why it has a higher cost.

So you moved to Antioch recently ? I remember you were out in Pacifica . You must miss the cool weather .

Yep I'm in Antioch now. Don't miss the weather or the rust on my cars and games. It is pretty hot up here but it's nice living in the sun instead of the cold wet fog all the time. I actually have some color on my skin now lol :)

Shipping update.

So freightquote.com totally let me down so I do not recommend using then unless your game is already on a pallet and ready for pickup. I have been struggling with them all week. Everything was fine at first until they refused to pick up the game since it wasn't on a pallet. It really upset the seller and now I'm in a tough spot.

Just got a bid on uship and coinopshippers never replied to my request. Pilot will not ship since I'm not a business so I am going to do more research today to see what I can come up with.

This sucks!

I just called Beltman at (800) 959-8880, ext. 2, and the woman on the phone was really helpful. She said that they are a division of NAVL, and that STI, Precision, and their group are all under the same umbrella. I asked her, "Do you ship arcade games?" since I wanted a quote on getting a Food Fight across country, and the woman laughed and said, "Yes. In my sleep."

She gave me a quote of around $470 for a cross-country hike. Still pretty high, but door-to-door and not as high as $600. You might try there and see if you can get a decent price.

All I have to say is....Thank you!!!!

I just called and talked to Tamara at Beltmann on the phone and they will take care of everything!!!

I was quoted $439.17 which is fantastic. They will be picking this up either tomorrow or Monday with an ETA of Aug 10th or 11th.

:)
