Lots of talk of new repro MB marquees and bezels as of late.

Any opinions on where to find the best reproduction Mario Bros. conversion control panel overlays? Quarter Arcade has a nice widebody repro, but not the conversion one. Seems the most reliable places are gameongrafix.com and arcadeoverlays.com, both of which tend to have about the same rep here from what I've seen (I've never ordered from either).

At this point, I'm really just wondering if anyone may know of another site that has this, that may be better than what's mentioned above? My guess is probably not, but figured I'd ask. Also, maybe someone out there is planning a nicer run in the near future? ;)

I just got a modified (for more buttons) one from arcadeoverlays.com and I am very satisfied. I had it printed on the adhesive backed polycarbonate for durability, so it doesn't look EXACTLY like an original, but overall good color and sharp detail...plus the customer service was very helpful and responsive. I highly recommend them. The polycarbonate is also much thicker than gameongrafix...plus gameongrafix is hit or miss with order accuracy and quality. go with arcadeoverlays

Thanks. That's the way I'm leaning since AO clearly designates which is specifically for the conversion cab. GoG says "small" which I assume means conversion size, but I'd rather not assume...

Got mine in from AO the other day. I like the texture and the artwork itself looks pretty good. However, the colors on mine are off. As an example, the red used on the top half seems to be all the same color, which makes the crab and the logo blend in with the brick. The brick should really be a bit darker than it is and I'd be fine with it. Below are two pics. The first is what I received, the other is one supposedly received from AO by another KLOVer, the the very bottom, of course, is an original.

Thoughts? Firepro4life52, can you post a pic of yours? I will probably email them as I imagine mine was printed from a different file than the other below...you can see some differences if you look closely (such as the corners around the instructions in the center).

I'll post one later when I get home. The coloring is the same as yours though. I noticed it too, but since it was a custom job to add space for more buttons, I decided I could live with it. I haven't installed it yet, so I'd be interested to see if they would do an exchange.

There's a couple of other picky things, like the outlining on Mario and Luigi that aren't right.

Thanks for confirming the color variance. I'm thinking this other one may be from GoG, but I really don't know. I've seen a pic of one from GoG before that looked more like this other one, so that seems likely.

Yeah, that's the easiest to notice and is annoying as well, though less so than the brick color.

Apologize for bumping an old thread, but am curious as whether the AO issue got sorted out... I'm looking for one of these now myself...

I can't speak for AO. I returned mine to them and sent them a bit of my original overlay that I could in hopes they could color match it in the future. They were very grateful, so who knows. It might not hurt to email them and see if they've made any changes to it recently.

The one on Game on Grafix is closer, but not quite as nice overall...good enough though. There was an issue with theirs as well which I talked to them about, they fixed, then sent me a new one. The texture of AO's was much nicer in my opinion, but the colors are a lot nicer on GoG's.

Here was my comparison: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showpost.php?p=2358064&postcount=19
