Best Playchoice-10 Attract Mode

Yeah I should have added "have a PC-10 and have it set to freeplay." Forgot about that part. Freeplay is awesome as it bypasses the timer, but the attract mode then sucks unless you select a game. I 100% agree on Dr. Mario's attract mode. That whiny synth sound is the worst. It's exactly the same on the Vs. version, so It's real hard to keep my Red Tent on if no one is playing it. Sweet game though.

Galaga is another game that looses attract mode in freeplay, highly annoying. I love the Dr. Mario theme song, I used to whistle it all the time. Too bad the game is no Tetris. It is pretty boring.

Before I realized my BIOS was custom, I used to set it to SMB because it was silent and kept the screen moving. I can't stand attract mode with sound.

+1 for TMNT. Konami did some great and very distinct video game audio during the 8-bit era. Although all of it is good, including the TiT example.

I also dig Double Dragon, although that cart has absolutely no attract mode by itself. It's just the title screen slowly burning into the monitor. I'll also +1 Pro Wrestling. I really like how it cycles through the different wrestler stats instead of just sitting at the title screen. I can only stand the occasional loop of the "classic NES" attract song (the one used for, say, Baseball). Gauntlet is cool but only after about 10 minutes.

Where is the setting to cycle the carts during attract mode? Mine is not set on free play, but it stays to one cart the entire time.

Double Dragon has the best music by far in my opinion...it just feels epic to me! Even River City Ransom had the homage to DD near the end of the game with their music!

I like Pro Wrestling for an attract mode, Track N Field isn't too bad althoguh the starting whistle sound can be jarring.

Before I set mine to free play I would turn it on to listen to all the games instead of music while I was working on something. I always used the service switch to coin it up no need to add extra buttons unless your to lazy to open the door and reach in.

I would have to go through all of them to narrow it down to a favorite.

Sorry to bring one back from the grave, but I have my machines set to attract mode (with music set to on), and some of the games don't play any music. Balloon fight is one of them. Is this normal?

To keep this post on topic, the best attract mode music is Mega Man 3 and Double Dragon comes in a close second. lol
