So I am shopping for my first 100% working pin:)

Is Mr. Pinball the best place? What other places should I check out?

Looking for a DE Time Machine, Black Hole or Space Station.

Good luck on Space Station. Ive been looking for one for four months. Found two and neither person will tell me the condition of the game, dig it out of their warehouse to find out, or give me a price on it. Fucking aggravating as hell.

Two suggestions: Networking and Patience.

When first bought a pin, I didn't know anyone else in the region. I also was impatient. As a result, I ended up buying a pin on eBay from Canada and paying dearly to have it shipped to Florida...

Don't do what I did. Get to know pinball owners in your region. Go to events, auctions, join local/regional groups and forums. After building your personal pinball network, opprotunities to buy will begin to arise. It'll still be difficult to locate a specific title at a specific time... you'll need to either wait patiently, or be flexible with your desires.

The Pinball Wizard's show is in Allentown in May. Ivan is a great guy, and the show is great (and pretty close, for you). there are games inside set up for free play that are for sale as well. There is an outside flea market area where there are often good deals also.

The website (which is not yet updated for next year) is http://www.pinfestival.com/.

Be patient. I know of a Space Station that was for sale in CT, I can see if he still has it if you'd like.

Space Station is a great underrated machine in my opinion, but I am a William's System 11 fanboy :)

Feel free to ask any questions you might have as well. I know people :)

Chris

Thanks for the advice everyone.. Yep I plan on going to the next show but none during the winter:( I guess i'll have plenty of time to save up and buy
a bunch at once.

Okay I'm interested.. where in CT? Nice shape? LMK.

If you pass, let ME know...if the guy's willing to ship.

I'll consider anything at this point.

Looks like I just found my first pin.. a black hole from EagleTG. We will
need to get it working but its in nice shape.

Still on the lookout for a space station or time machine. I saw PMWolfs..
If only he was closer:) I'm not interested in shipping. I can be patient.

If its still there next time I drive out to Vernon Valley, ill let you know :)

Wow, a Black Hole for your first pin...that's brave. If it's bullet-proofed, you'll be fine, but if not you may be in for some System 80 joy.

Space Stations seem to be as common as Waffle Houses here in Georgia. I hope you find a good one soon. I did a playfield swap on mine, and it's my favorite pin to kill 10 minutes with.

For a 100% working machine, the best source will be fellow collectors, second to that would picking one up at a pinball show. Classified ads and stuff like craigslist are likely to be the least-reliable sources for working games.

MMM waffle house. I love going to that place for breakfast when I
go out to Columbus Ohio. They dont seem to have them in NJ. At least I've never seen one.

If anyone hears about one up north.. or the DE time machine

lmk:)

Congrats. My first was a BH as well. Fixed a few dozen things on it, and it works like a charm.

Enter Gravity Tunnel.
