Hey all,
Looking to make my own bezels for some Nintendo cabs I am restoring (vs and PC10). Couple questions:

Where's the best place to buy some tinted plexiglass to cut down to size?

What tint or color spec is the best fit that you have found? I am seeing Grey 2074 in most cases.

Thanks all.

I have used Tap Plastics before. If you know what size you need just put it into their web site and it will tell you the cost. Not sure if it's the cheapest out their but it's a ready to use solution. I don't remember the cost as it's been a wile but I used it on my Fix it Felix project which I still need to finish some day.

I have a few tinted plexi's, state the size and if I have it it's yours for shipping cost.

Thanks for the reply! I'm looking for up to 4 Nintendo Vs bezels.
Those dimensions are 22 3/8" x 25".

Also looking for top and bottom bezels for a PC-10 dual monitor.
Those dimensions are:
23 5/8" x 13 1/4" and 23 5/8" x 16 3/4"

I have also used TAP Plastics when I made a few custom Apple G4 Cube cases. I was very happy with them and would certainly recommend them.

Good luck!

Playchoice 10 was glass... I've heard stories of the light gun not working accurately through acrylic (plex) but i've never verified this myself.

If you go to Tap plastics, make sure you ask for AR ( abrasion resistant) polycarbonate. It's about 3 times the price but you can at least wipe it clean without leaving marks on it. It's really worth it.

To give you an idea, a piece that is about 19 by 24 inches that I use when I flat screen a Rush 2049 is about $60. It looks better for a lot longer than the normal plexi that scratches really easy.

I found a local plastics place. Prices were just a little cheaper then Tap Plastics. I probably will try Tap Plastic at some point as well. Thanks to all those who replied.

I use a guy on ebay, probably not the cheapest, but it's quick and easy.
I send him the size, he puts it up on ebay with buy it now, I buy it.

I always heard the problem was the gun will work, but if you've got plexi on the monitor it'll get scratched up pretty quickly as kids bang the tip of the gun into it... so Nintendo made a kit to send out for the Punch out cabs that were converted to switch them over to glass for the pc10.

Not sure if that's correct or not though.

I built a friend a high score saves vs multi with a light gun, duck hunt and hogans alley.
Used the original vs plexi which was fairly scratched up and it works fine.

I misspoke in my post. I am restoring a Punchout, not a PC-10. So, if anyone out there has a Punchout PCB, I'm your guy!
