I just want to send out a public thank you to Todd (aesop) for the best darn packing job I have seen in a long time. I recently acquired some parts from him and he packed it to withstand World War 3 or UPS, whichever is worse!

This kind of packing job should be the norm, not the exception, and lots of shippers could learn from him (I am not implying anyone in particular, but most of us have seen terrible packing jobs at one time or another).

Thanks, Todd!

Now, back to the games... :)

Its not that hard to pack something for shipping. If you don't have a good box lying around, go to your local strip mall and find a good box. If you do a good job packing a game, it will avoid a lot of headaches..

I recently shipped a merrit pitboss fedex to texas and it made it safe. Double boxed it. Inner box was about the size of the merrit. Dead space was filled with old shrink wrap. then had 2" of peanuts to fill in the space of the outer box. Labeled it as fragile and which end was up.

He didn't pack it. The movers did which consisted of a thin layer of shrinkwrap and a promise to finsih the pack job at the warehouse. Game made ok I believe.

Yes...they did wrap the game better/more correct at the warehouse as promised and yes the game did make the trip without damage.

What's the SW Cockpit story? Also how did he pack the delivery so others can take after him? :)
The package (big box) containted PCBs, metal, plasic, glass (bezel) and wood. Each piece was wrapped, wrapped again and surrounded by other protectors (packing peanuts). Heavy stuff was on the bottom - lighter on top, the box was bigger than the items and padded on all sides, the box was clearly marked and "built" to take a beating from the shipping company. The wood was on the bottom and zip tied to the bottom of the box, so even if it turned over, it wouldn't crush stuff below it (normally above it). It took me 1/2 hour to unpack this one box. It was all of the attention to detail that made the difference.

A+ on packing.

A photo woulda been nice for all the readers to see how to properly pack stuff...

What is the old saying about 20/20? :)

I literally recycled every part of the box and the packing materials, except for a few pieces of plastic. Trying to do my part to be green. :)
