Best packing in the world from a seller on here! OMG!!!

This metal plate on this timer is what I hope did the damage and not damaged on purpose before they were shipped out. I never seen anything like it. Every last rom is damaged. Man I just dont know what to say about this one. I had items here and there that was badly packaged, but they were boards, not loose roms with fragile legs. There was no way in hell this was going to make it here or even down the block. No bubble wrap, no pocorn, no newpaper, no nothing. Just 1 pad at the bottom and small piece of styrofoam, a little tin top all in a flat rate box with. all those items took up about less than 1/4 of the box. When did air stop items from moving around in a box 1/4" full???

It looks like he just put them in the box exactly how they were pictured in the FS post. He didn't tape them down, and I bet the handling, jostling, bumps, being turned upside down, etc., that can happen during shipping is what did them in.
Even so, I can't imagine a bunch of chips bumping into each other causing that many bent legs.

That sucks Daryl, everybody knows you're a cool guy who always does people right. I've sold you a few things and never even had you haggle on the price. Plus you buy and sell a TON of stuff, which helps the hobby. It is kind of strange that EVERY chip has EVERY leg bent. Almost like it was done on purpose. I don't know.

You'd be surprised...

Those eprom pins are quite fragile.
It really doesn't take much to bend them.

I've had thousands of chips shipped to me over the years,
and anytime a chip became "loose" in transit, it was damaged beyond use.

Most of my supplies are shipped in plastic tubes,
and sometimes the rubber stoppers at one end falls out
and some chips fall out of the tube.

There isn't much room for them to move around,
but they still get bent pins all over.

Simply putting chips on a piece of foam won't do.
They WILL fall out.

If using foam, you MUST "sandwich" the chips with something else (cardboard)
to prevent them from popping out of the foam.

I always pack Everything I ship ( chips, PCBs, etc... ),
so that they can not move at all inside the box.

I don't use foam peanuts because things can still move around.
I use sheets of soft foam to "squeeze" the goods into the box
with no room to move.

I'm not happy until I can flip the box all over the place
and/or drop it on the ground without hearing anything rattle.
(...'cause believe me, shipping will be ALOT worse than that ! )

Play choice roms

Send them back along with the marquees and I will give you a full refund.

For Future:

Give the seller / buyer the chance to make it right or send you a refund is always a good idea, to do 1st before calling him / her out in a form. And yea maybe a little empathy it is different then sympathy.

I did do a poor job packaging this item. Could be the handling was done poorly as well, this will be my last usps shipment

Step one - open the box

Step two - dump your roms in that box

Step three - mail out the box

and that's the way you do it....broken roms in a box.

...broken roms in a box now uh huh....

Imo asking him to take the time, effort and $$$ to ship back those obviously useless broken items is a bit of an insult at this point.
You know how to make it right, and telling him to send it back isn't it. I am aware that isn't STANDARD practice persay, but I believe it is probably the right thing to do in this case.
Unless I am misunderstanding them being junk/trash/useless

First off I didn't post this to call you out or I would have said your name in the post. As I see it I never did. If you read the post you'll see someone found a link and posted it here. Second I did reach out to you the first time (not public) about the marquees to make things right and then I get these roms. I think this post came from frustration more than anything. Just tired of receiving junk. Third I'm not going to waste my time packing up four marquees to send back because two I already throw in the garbage. I posted the picture of one of the two marquees that I throw out just so you see that I'm not lying about the condition I receive these items in. The same pics I sent you awhile back (not new ones). I dont keep stuff like this. I'm pretty much done buying stuff like this. I feel its an insult to me. There is no way the post office destroyed any of these packages. There was no protection in this box of roms whatsoever. The marquees were packed tight and there was no way they could be damaged in shipping as well. I feel like you don't care about stuff you have been shipping to me. I did receive sideart in one piece and good conditon so I know it can be done. This wont be the first time I lost money on items I purchased in general so I'll just take another lost and another lesson learned. Your cool to talk to on the phone and all, but receiving parts haven't been so good. So i'll just take myself out of the mix and look elsewhere for parts, just to avoid the disappointment. Nothing against you as a person, just my decision.

Send them back along with the marquees and I will give you a full refund.

So, I guess it worked out in my favor when garagearcade answered some of my "can you better describe the condition" questions I asked long ago only with a price and PP address. After all, sepia and 20 things in a pic makes it so easy to see detail.

I am also going to say fortune was again on my side a week or so ago when I told him I would take 100 bucks worth of art from him only to find an e-mail telling me where I could PP him for the art, followed by an e-mail that said he had sold it and he was offering me the remnants...all within about a 45 min span. Aparently I was expected to set at my PC awaiting his e-mail, or 45 or so minutes is some magic threshold of which I am unaware in which a buyer is supposed to respond before it's assumed he is AWOL. To me, someone that tells me how to pay for the item is committing to sell it to me. Sure, a buyer can flake...but 45 min is not what I would call remotely reasonable.

Irritated. Not really. I'm just sharing. How things with me, and DJ apparently, are handled speaks to the seller's ethic. I don't know about you all but I'm not a fan of buying from a guy that acts this way towards buyers. No telling what the merchandise would look like... At least I'm not out cash. I will say this, personally, I don't even open his for sale posts any longer.

Edit...
I went back and grabbed the link. Apparently it was updated. Not sure if I believe it. Seems like if I had promised the art to someone it would have come to mind before I featured it in a for sale post. Even at that, if it was a mistake, a "Hey man, I screwed up, here is what happened" e-mail would have been a better way to handle things as opposed to "Item is sold"

Decide what you like...I'm not a future buyer.

Wow didn't really want his to become a flame post by any means, just making a statement has to how not to send items. I just been haven't bad luck with a lot of transactions lately and this one just took it over the top for me. Within the last two months I had to have atleast 25 deals go bad between people committing to trades (giving me addresses and everything) then backing out at the last minute saying they found another trade, People sending me marquees that looked like tigers been playing volleyball with them but stated in good or great condition, Sideart that looks like it has been ran through a washing machine twice. Sh** like this seem to be happening lately for some reason and after getting these roms and seeing these legs bent in every direction possible and some even stuck together (side by side, not on top of each other) was incredible and upsetting at the same time. I'm diffently not the type of person that makes or try to make negative post on this forum and usually dont let things get to me so I will try not to let it happen again. Sorry guys!

I'm with ya. I have not had as much stuff go wrong as you as of late..not by a long shot. I admit I do approach purchases here with trepidation at times. Attitude and other's experiences go a long way.

I think things, in general, not just in this situation but across the board, can be summed up simply with a couple of points with which I am sure many folks will agree:

Some people act as if the potential buyers here are lucky to have the opportunity to buy from them.

To some it's all about the money. That's fine, as long as they realize a bezel that looks like it was used as a skate board ramp is not worth the money, and should not be sold as, NOS..or even nice. Don't be surprised if you shove trash in a box then get trashed in a post.

Pack things like you would want things sent to you packed.

If you don't want to answer questions and/or deal with tire kickers...move on.

A deal is a deal. Man up.

Same seller

Got my VS board in a cardboard envelope, most of caps were smashed down.

So I would just say that you don't know how to pack things at all.
