Best Nintendo Switcher?

I have the vector labs switcher in my DK jr. I can run all three DK's, plus Doom. It is pricey, but the room saved is worth it. Plus who does not want to play kong three ways?

Say what???

I might suck at searching so I'll ask here... :)

I was reading about the Vector-Labs switcher and it talks about adding coins using the P2 button and the joystick.

Does their switcher not hook up to allow actual coin drops?

Just curious as that is a feature I really want.

Thanks!

Vote for the Vector Labs switcher

Worth the price for me and with highscoresaves now supplying the product, no more long wait times. Switcher allows coin drop to function as normal. Read my other post regarding the jumper options available for the Vector Labs switcher for the various options and Guns that you connect along with retaining the player 2 controls.

Since I am limited on space and Vector labs offers so many options and being able to switch to play either the sub or main side of 1 Vs. board with 1 monitor. My one nintendo cabinet is running a Vector Labs switcher connected to 2 vector jamma adaptors, 2 Vector Nintendo Adaptors running:

1) VS board both sides switchable with Vector's Lab Switcher (MulitVs switch with 8 Vs. games selectable running on Sub side, Castlevania running on Main side)

2) a Second VS board connected option or use my Vector Mario/DK/Popeye Edge Adaptor for those boards

3) Arpicade-lots of potential, initial setup takes some time and to understand inner workings with various emulators and naming conventions and all the software tweaks needed to configure various games.

4) Pandoras Box 4SX - these are great

Well I'm back at this again.

Seem's like I hit a wall during the installation. The switcher board has a 6pin connector for power. Don't see any original DK 6pin connectors for power...

Does that mean I have to get an switching PS just to power the vector labs switcher?

I'm using the original Nintendo power supply, PP7-A. Power comes from the edge connector and then is distributed.
The VL manual shows you can use a switcher instead, if you want to ...

Can you post some pics...

I've having a brian fart day.... :)

1. main cabinet harness plugs into VL MAIN board's edge connector "fingers"
2. each boardset has an interface board installed onto its own edge connector
3. power cable 1 goes to boardset VL interface board 1
4. power cable 2 goes to boardset VL interface board 2
5. ... repeat for cable 3/4 if you have other boardsets
6. ribbon cable daisychains to each interface board

The first one in line gets booted first and then goes in line. If you want to change boot order, move the connectors.

Well I finally made progress on this a few days ago.

After having Tron Guy and Alpha-Tron help fix my 20ez monitor after I screwed itup by plugging the video into the wrong output on the VL switcher.... :001_scry:

Just waiting on my Orca Crazy Kong adapter to put the 4th and final game into the cab and then I'll make a custom board/mounting brackets to hold everything in. :)

But thanks to a fellow klov'er I was able to get a falcon crazy kong.

So now I have the last and finally piece to my ultimate DK cab that plays DK, DK Jr, DK3 and crazy kong... :)

Stay tuned for final installation pics.

I'm making progress... lol

Decided to make a pcb shelf just like the original. That way I can mount all 4 pcb's in OEM style configuration.

That looks good. Are you mounting the switcher on the spot marked "Y"? That is where I have mine mounted and it works well.

TNT has a "Hero" for sale if you want to spent the $300.

I have the switcher mounted on the front side... seems to work best on that side. I already have a Crazy Kong. Just need to finish my mounting solution.
