Best Nintendo Switcher?

I have been thinking of doing this to add DK3 to my current DDK setup. Hell, I'd love to be able to play D2K in there as well.

I, too, have not been able to pull the trigger on making this change yet.

Who ever said this hobby was about saving money?

EXACTLY. You want to enhance your game or make it prettier, it will cost you $$. You want the best "working" option, it will cost you $$.

This is like any hobby. "E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E"

I just restored a DK. It will have DK, DKJr and DK3 inside + enhancement kits (deranged, high score save etc) + VL switchers. That cab is now one of my more expensive ones in my collection. But ... it's sweet. And will never leave ...

So, just to make sure I understand this correctly:
Each DK game needs a unique RGB setting?
or just a unique volume control?

Ok,

So it sounds like the vector labs switcher is the way to go.

Currently I have my DK cab with the original PCB board + Donkey Kong Remix Multigame High Score Save Kit - With Deranged, Trainer and PACE DK.

Thinking about adding the D2K Donkey Kong Multigame and High Score Save Kit on top of the DK Remix board as seen on Jonh's Arcade videos....That way I also can play DK2.

I'll add the VL switcher so I can run the DK Jr. PCB and add the Donkey Kong Junior High Score Save Kit from HSS. Or maybe I'll wait until the DJ Jr. Remix kit is complete and get that instead..

Then I'll just sit tight until I find a DK3 PCB that I can add and that should complet the all-in-one DK cab running all original PCB's.

That should complete the ultimate DK experience in one DK cab,,,, :D

Kidda in the same boat....

The switcher is $85-95 + $55 for each adapter...+ $200 for each PCB...

A rather expensive DK cab. lol

arcadeSD.. all 3 DK games and more for less then half the price and 90% less hassle.

queue the "but the sounds arent 100% arcade perfect in DK" police. heh.

Yep, I like running all the original PCB's in all my games....

No Jamma / MAME emulators or whatever....

You DO realize that Nintendo allowed that EXACT very same thing in 2004?

Which is why it's not original.....

Everyone OG arcade game manufacture is reissuing their classics like that. I get it. It's not what I'm talking about here....

semantics really..

adding a switcher and jamming 2 or 3 PCBs in your cab isnt exactly keeping things "arcade authentic" either.

for what you are going to spend doing all that mess just spend a bit more and get an actual DKjr. they arent that hard to come by.

Depends on how you define "original."

If you discount a game like this, then you cannot consider anything Namco produced as a legit coin-op game. I don't share that sentiment.

Namco bought the IP from Nintendo and released that cab. Whether or you believe it was a legit OG coin-op game or not doesn't matter. Them's the facts. This game was routed and present in arcades in 2004. It's legit.

I was going to say this, and then I read the OP's first post :)

Does it run on the original PCB's or it Jamma / Mame?

Game play, colors, sounds will all be different.....sorry

Nothing wrong with that re-released all-in-one....

no space?

you have two galagas.. one has to go.

you have a kitchen? get rid of the fridge..

have 3 kids? make them share a bedroom and use their old room for games.

this stuff is collecting 101.

Park the Camaro in the street...never gonna happen....I do live next to a storage place though....ideas...

ArcadeSD is interesting...been thinking of buying one just to see the game play differences. I did buy a 60n1 board a few weeks ago just to see the game play differences...was not impressed with most of the games. A few were ok but Galaga was shit on the 60n1 board.

True but we here dont represent 95% of the population or we would not be here. We want to 100% true original arcade game experiences right?

the 60-1 is a $40 piece of shit. There is a bunch of arcadeSD info on here if you search..

On the arcadeSD DK games I cant notice any difference (other then sound).. Im sure other people will chime in.

DK itself I dont notice any issue (other then sound) and DK I would consider myself to be well above average skill wise. I would notice if it played goofy.

Unless you are shooting for a kill screen or world record I am not sure how it would bother anyone.

Agreed.

I feel that way with Galaga. I can get an score of 2.8mil on a regular bases but with DK I'm luck to hit 85k. lol
