Best Molex Tool and/or Kit

Send me a list of what specific connectors you want and I will price it. I have 12,000 molex parts in stock right now.
I have a pretty good selection of .100, .156, .084. I havent stocked .093 yet other than the pins.

I really don't know what I need. I want to try to have a good selection on hand so I don't have to wait for an order every time I try to do something.

How many different connectors are there that are used in these games? I actually have no idea.

Needle nose pliers work just fine for the average guy who only needs to do this once in awhile.

I thought the same thing until I started using the proper tool. Saves a lot of headache and makes a crimp that doesn't destroy the pin in the process.

Thats a great site if you have a mobile home. I bought the book from their and then did a total gut job on an old trailer.

We put in new 3/4 plywood floors, pex plumbing, duct work, rebuilt the furnace, new dry wall, new doors, new shower & skirting. The place was brand new.

Those guys over their went out of there way to help me at every turn. Great site! Kinda like all the guys here...

I use the $15 1494 crimper tool thats included in some of those Digikey kits, and from Bob. (Digikey sells it seperately but I think I'd buy a KK kit with the tool). It works great.

I have all the part #s at home but if you want to build your own kit...

1494 Crimper Tool
100 ea .093 female/male
100 ea .62 female/male
100 ea .084 female/male

.156 trifurcon pins (had to get these from bob - used for jamma/edge connectors)
.156 standard KK female pins (for monitor plugs)

Then get a few male/female 9 position .084 housings (for midway coin doors)
3,5, and 6 position .156 female KK housings for monitor plugs
Few 2 position male/female .093 housings for monitor power plugs


Then go to radio shack, get the Molex pin removal tool for .093 and they also sell a lot of .093 housings w/pins.

All told this is easily less than $100 (maybe even less than $50 I don't remember), and this kit has served me extremely well. The only things I may still splurge on if I can find them is a .84 and .062 removal tools. I've only encountered one .062 I had to fix. 99% of this is available at Digikey, the rest I found at Jammaboards.com (.156 housings are very cheap there) and Bob for the trifurcon pins.

Above list is what I used for my kit - this has served me well has a little bit of everything. Note when I say 100ea .084 male/female I mean 100 male pins and 100 female pins, but if you don't do much of these then get 50 each.

Hint Hint Nudge Nudge - all 3 molex removal tools currently on ebay for cheap Orig manufacturer that was making them for molex - got mine in, they look great! Save $30-40!

I would love to buy a little multi-kit... I also have a probably unrelated question about the plugs for the CPS2 kick harnesses are those a little proprietary mold or is that a generic part?

I'll be buying a molex kit.

I think they're molex but a different family from the normal stuff. If you do some searching here I'm pretty sure thats been answered a few times, but I don't remember off the top of my head.

Thanks for the link, it was around $41.00 to front door for all three. Nice deal indeed!

Would I ever have need for a Molex HT-1353 insertion tool? What the hell do you use it for? Seem to me that it couldn't be that hard to push the pin in the socket is it? It would be nice to know about it now...

Anyway I hope to get a killer kit from mike tomorrow. Im kinda stoked about it.
