Best method to install a lcd in a cocktail Ms Pacman?

What type lcd monitor should be used and what type and where to buy some mounting hardware for the lcd to fit in an upright and a cocktail cabinet?

Best method is not to do it at all. They look terrible and will de-value the game.

(IMO)

There is no kind you can use that doesn't look terrible and pretty much all of them you find will be the wrong aspect ratio. You will also have to fabricate your mounting as well unless you happen to be able to find an actual 19" 4/3 gaming industry LCD in a frame that is compatible with your cocktail (good luck there).

This is a customer request because they do not want to get their original monitor repaired, not meant to offend or de value the game.

Cherry Master and most other gamblers don't look bad on an LCD. Just get anything that will fit in the cabinet and a CGA to VGA convertor. You will still be fabricating your mounting hardware unless you really want to pay extra for happ lcds.

For the customer's Ms. Pac if they truly don't want a original style monitor see if they will take a CRT style PC monitor. You can pick up a 19" one on craigslist for $25 (you will need the same adapter of course). The trick to making those look good is to adjust the flyback knob just a wee bit off focus, that keeps Ms. Pac round instead of blocky, she will be blocky with an LCD.

I think you're going to need to paypal some people for this type of information on this board.

It works the same for all games. Buy an LCD, fabricate your own mount. If the game isn't a VGA one then you also need a CGA to vga converter.

Any of you have a point? Looking for an answer, not nonsense. Grow up boys.

I have a Ms. Pac in one of my restaurants. I am going to replace the failing monitor (tube going bad, rejuve no worky) with an LCD. My customers won't give a shit as long as they can play Ms. Pac. Once it goes back into my collection, it will have a CRT re-installed.

My Homemade Mount

This is how I did mine. Now, it was in a box with no monitor, no pcb, no harness, no control panels! So I felt like I was saving it from certain doom no matter what I did to it. As this was for my own usage, I thought my method was fine and in the end you won't see it again until some day in the far off future you replace or repair the LCD.

I cut a piece of plywood the correct dimensions for the monitor frame. In the little chart, the red holes are for the monitor frame and the green holes are for the VESA mounting holes. They are almost 4" apart (100mm = 3.94"). In my case, the LCD was "thin/thick" enough that I used 3/4" plywood. You might need to use spacers, etc.

I would quickly measure the holes on your LCD before you start, there are a few different spacings but the idea would be the same.

While not the prettiest solution, you do get plenty of support and cutting a rectangle and drilling a few holes is easy, cheap and quick.

Reading this thread up to this point was the most fun I've had all day. I'm sitting here at work LMFAO. Two reasons I should be crying: 1) 99% of the world wouldn't get it. 2) It's the most fun I've had all day.

LCD in a Ms. Pac Man. :D

We put LCD's in all the time on 60's BUT on Ms Pac it looks like shit I like CRTs a lot better
