Best looking games?

The first time my kids saw a Tron they went crazy. It wasn't even turned on and they knew that it was special.

Not sure they fall within the "golden age" (...are we doing this comic book categorizing shit now? really?), but:

Tron doesn't make the list. The half-size sideart and black front disqualifies it, not enough going on.

And I think Gaplus may be in line for ugliest. :/

Centipede.... best side art every, best sounds, and one of the most recognizable games in any arcade.
Tempest side art is a close second.

No love for Pac-Man? The art and bold yellow cabinet attracted me to it the first time I saw one.

I still love the sideart, even 31 years later.

I'd also have to go with Galaxian, Tempest, Defender, Crystal Castles, and Fire Truck.

I've always really liked Space Invaders and Night Driver

Space Invaders has great side art and the alien also used to remind me of the 10,000 volt ghost from Scooby Doo which was one of my favorite cartoons at the time. I also liked how they used the half mirrored glass to make it look like the invaders were actually floating above the black light lit moon.

The sit down Night Driver has that cool fiberglass cabinet that really stood out against all the other cabs at the time and it was the first driving game with that first person feel and even though the graphics are very sparse it felt like I was really sitting in and driving a race car, well to me at least.

Well I've kinda zeroed in on Asteroids Deluxe for my next game. Gonna go look at one tonight and I bet I go ahead and grab it.

It does look pretty baddass and I really dig the classics.

Death Race. Cool looking cabinet, great artwork on three sides, and the back glass and bezel....the thing is just gorgeous.

Picked up a really, really nice Asteroids Deluxe for $400. Immaculate side art and marquee, nice cpo, original and clean linear PS, nice sharp monitor. It's a truly beautiful game!

Just a personal perspective. I have 41 games in the arcade, and although I think they all look like a fine piece of art, I find myself always walking past the Tron and saying... "That is a beautiful looking Tron there".

Most Universal games display nice. Cosmic Alien,Cheeky Mouse,Magical Spot, etc.

Always thought the centipede side art was one of the most beautiful decals ever. I think it gets overlooked since it's so common. Also a big fan of Galaxian and Galaga's side art.

Pole Position cockpit comes to mind as a great looking overall machine.
