Ok, so what game do you think most kids would be content with playing. I was thinking Pengo, but man it would be a hard game for a kid if they didn't know what they were doing.

The 2 biggest hits for the kids at my last party were Twin Cobra(they liked the continue feature) and believe it or not Mr. Do! As hard as that game is they never stopped playing it.

If space permits, a cockpit Starwars, Pole Position or some other driver. Kids seem to like playing the racing games, because they seem more interactive. Some kids might have trouble understanding that they control a small yellow pac-man on a screen with strange goals, but I think most kids have watched their parents drive a car and want to emulate that expereince. The cockpit would only help the kid feel more boxed in and interactive.

Not enough space for all that? Shove 'em in front of a Vs. Super Mario Bros. Any kid can figure that out, as my generation seemed to do.:)

Almost all toddlers through teens flock to the driving games (Super Off Road and Outrun) and my 4 player Simpsons in my gameroom. Not necessarily classics, but they go with what they know, a cartoon and a steering wheel. Sad but true.

actually all my kids love my games and play them
i have
ms pac
galaga
star wars
track and field
centipede
2 pins

the best are the
pins
star wars
centipede
track and field

they like ms pac and galaga too they just have a bit more time making the moves good with them but tey are catching on fast

my kids are ages 6,4,2 and newborn (dosent play ...yet)

Bubble Bobble... or if you want to go with a "classic" era game: Mr. Do! My four year old neice and eight year old nephew can't get enough of these two games...

That's funny, my kids.. 5, 7, and 9 play those 2 the most too!
Although my 7 year old daughters fav is Dig Dug2... go figure.

My kids have almost no interest in the classics. My son always wants to play the same 4 games: TMNT, Sunset Riders, Marvel Vs. Capcom, and X-Men.

That sounds about right. When I was that age I played TMNT, Pole Position, Gauntlet, and shooter games. Basically games with a lot of action rather than skill perhaps.

I wouldn't have had any interest for games such as Donkey Kong or Centipede. I remember thinking fast Ms Pac was cool but it still didn't hold my attention as well.

Considering you have a tri-sports, I would think that bowling would be a good option.

Perhaps space invaders?
any non violent gun game
any driving game
any pin ball
any pac man version

I would say no to pengo also, and dig dug might be hard for them to realise to keep walking while pumping

I have never heard of or seen Cameltry. It looks fun.

In my gameroom, Crystal Castles and Burgertime have been getting more play by kids around 8 and younger. Not sure why, I'm guessing it's the themes.

My kids are still into Mr. Do!

Took the upright out of the house, and I thought I was dead until they discovered it on the CT. Now they want that big one back in the house again.

Other than that, pins, and Star Castle seem to keep them busy.
