I just purchased a NEO GEO MVS system. What are the best games for this system? I never have owned one before so I am just looking to get a few good games for it.

Thanks
MFW

I used to have a 4 slot, I like:

Metal Slug Series
League Bowling ( my fiancee and I played this a ton, she usually wins too :/ )
Baseball Stars 2
Neo Bomberman
Pop 'n Bounce
Shock Troopers
Super Baseball 2020

I don't really like fighting games much, but there are a ton of them for the Neo...

I second League Bowling.

I love all the puzzle games, Neo Mr. Do, 1945, Bomber Man, King of Fighter Series (not a fighter guy but my youngest daughter and I have fun playing this game) and all the slugs.

Def' get a multi cart.

i agree go buy a multi cart and be done then try the other games in mame
then if you want to start to collect you already know what games you really like
diffrent people like diffrent gmaes

that being said

for me
you cant go wrong with the metal slug games
mark of the wolves is the best fighting game ever
strikers 1945 is good shootemup
allong with the aero fighters series

League Bowling is great...until you find the sweet spot. Then it is 300 games all day long. Until then though, it's a blast and I still recommend it. :)

Metal Slugs obviously. Wind Jammers. Super Dodgeball. Some good shmups and okay fighters...but everyone has a differing opinion on those. Some of the soccer titles are cool. Baseball Stars 2 is great. The few top-down drivers are kinda neat as well (Thrash Rally). Bust-A-Move/Puzzle Bobble is another obvious choice.

Don't be fooled by the hardcore set, there are some stinkers in that library (Burning Fight comes to mind).

there are some pretty neat platformers as well. i prefer Blue's Journey and Nightmare, both of which are available on some of the multi-carts.

At least you can get a BJ from the homeless guy in Burning Fight.

I like fighters but I keep a different selection in my 6-slot most of the time. I can't remember what I have in there now. I'll post my list later.

Three of my faves are: Metal Slug (any of 'em), Shock Troopers 2nd Squad, and Top Hunter.

Not many ppl have heard of Top Hunter, but it's a great game. :D

Viewpoint! It is similar to Zaxxon, only WAY better, with a cool soundtrack. But, it is hard to find (expensive) by itself. I see it is in the new 150 multi cart now! Puzzle Bobble/Bust a Move is good too.

If you like puzzle games, Bust-a-move and Puzzle de pon are both great. So is Neo Mr. Do and Neo Bomberman. The Metal Slug games are also awesome. I've been getting into shooters too - Blazing Star is a good one if you can find it. I've also been really getting into Ironclad... but if you want that one, you're going to have to do some soldering. Heh.

Pulstar and Blazing Star. Of course, I like shooters. My daughter was partial to Blue's Journey (raguy).

Why has nobody mentioned King Of The Monsters? Not a real fighter fan but I remember playing that one back then. League Bowling is great. Any Puzzle Bobble or Metal Slug variant. I really liked one of the baseball games but I don't remember which one. Might have been Baseball Stars (or 2), not sure.

I've been playing:

Viewpoint (this game kicks my ass)
Bust-A-Move (Puzzle Bobble) I & II
Puzzle de Pon
Samurai Showdown 3 & 4 (And I don't really like fighters)
Baseball Stars 2 (WAYYY better than say... RBI Baseball)
King of Monsters (again, not a fighter fan, but it's cool to tear up the city!)
