Best Craigslist Deals -- What have you bought?

Almost my entire collection comes from CL- most every game was bought for $50-$100 non-working. I think my favorite purchase, however, and one I will not be letting go of soon is my mint HUO Gravitar with 9-clicks on the counter for $400. More than I usually spend, but I was very happy to fork out the money in that case. :)

9 games on the counter or 9K? How could a machine only have 9 games on the counter. I would have put at least 20 games on the counter the day it came home.

Almost every play used the test/credit button. In fact, the seller told me that the 9-clicks were very recent as he had some guests over and one individual dropped a few quarters in until he was told to press the black button inside the coin door...

Even at that, I don't think the game was played much at all due to the difficulty, and it came from a prior Atari employee.

Got my grail machine a few years ago, a mint condition Killer Instinct off of CL, has chrome trim on it and the sideart is almost perfect, nicest KI machine I have seen. The seller had just joined the army and was being sent to Germany, couldn't take it with him as they charged to move his stuff by the weight, so he had to unload quick. As nice as it is, It may be HUO.

I actually haven't had any bad deals on CL, guess I have been lucky so far.

Ah, I didn't know many people used the test button rather than tripping the mechs manually.

Nothing free ever but a $50 working Asteroids that only needed a fresh cpo and buttons.

Yeah too many people trying to make money flipping games in Michigan.

Man I'm jealous of the sweet deals from CL. Competition here in MI is just brutal even with a shitty economy. If you don't see the ad right away then you can pretty much forget it. The only thing I've ever managed to buy off CL was my Simpsons. I bough it converted with only a monitor and paid $125 for it so not really a deal, but not bad either. My best deals have some from a local arcade that sold me stuff cheap a few years back and from family and friends who've spotted them for me.

I worked for an op, and when we got new games, many times the counter had a negative number on it. So it would start out at like 99987 or something like that.

I have gotten lots of good deals on CL over the years but the best deals came from operators that I was able to make contact with, particularly for pinball machines.

Just the other day I was offered an entire arcade from an OP. There were machines in there that had been in the arcade for over 30 years, most of them pushed to the back and covered in dust. That is always the coolest thing, like an archeologist, looking for the gems.

Usually the only deals i can get are if the monitor has issues. Otherwise it gets snatched up quickly. Thankfully people are scared of monitors. The area here has been way too high in prices, although i did get a decent buster bros for 75.

I've got a few good deals off CL over my 12 years of collecting.

Picked up a free Shinobi last year.

Got a working Starship 1 that I used to play as a teenager when I would pass through seattle bitd for $50. It was right down the road from me.

Picked up a VERY NICE Q*bert for $200. Nicest I've seen since my arcade days in '82.
According the guys who watch Fee Bay, I'll be able to sell it for $15,000,000 or trade it for a small island in the Pacific. I hear Jamaica's nice this time of year ;)

Pole Position for $75

Battlezone for $75

Not as good as some but Seattle's a tough place to score deals.

Hmm I can't say I've ever really gotten any deals from CL that were all that great except one:

Vs. red tent w/ 4P Tennis - $90

I consider this a good deal, but many would not:

Q*bert (working after new bridge rectifier) - $200 (I think... mighta been $240, but worth it as the cab was in pretty excellent shape)

And I thought this one would be a good deal (I owned the cabinet and ended up getting a buyback essentially), but the new owner I guess let the thing sop up humidity or water and (I can assume) his psychotic gf kicked the back door in and one of the hinges went missing:

Champ Sprint (w/ repro Sys II art) $120

That last one was the weirdest CL pickup for me so far btw. :/
